(Young) Smith Johnson, 85, resi- dent of Manchester, NH, died Decem- ber 5, 2010 at Hack- ett Hill Healthcare Center, Manches- ter, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in New Boston, NH on October 5, 1925, a daughter of the late John A. and May- sie (Horton) Young. She was raised and educated in Am- herst where she resided for many years and had also lived in Nash- ua for more than 20 years. Strick- en with polio at age 25, she coura- geously continued to raise her three children, work and volunteer. Florence had been employed by In- dian Head National Bank of Nashua for many years. In addition, she had been the director for the Friendship Club of Nashua, which she was af- filiated with for over 30 years. Following her retirement, she en- joyed traveling with her husband, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchil- dren. In recent years, Florence dis- covered a handicapped accessible limousine service which allowed her to enjoy outings with friends. She will be missed for her beauty, her positive attitude and the confidence she always displayed and instilled in others. She was prede- ceased by her hus- bands, Robert E. Smith and Donald H. Johnson; a son, omas R. Smith; and a son-in-law, Robert Androski. Family members include her daughter, Sharyn S. Andros- ki of Manchester, NH; a son, Peter E. Smith and his wife, Denise Dawson- Smith of Raymond, NH; a daughter- in-law, Mary Smith of Manchester, NH; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a brother, Maurice “Jake” Young of Amherst, NH; a sis- ter-in-law, Mrs. Donald (Marion) Young of Amherst, NH; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ramsay made her home in Amherst for more than 50 years where she was very active in the community. She was a founder of the Jack and Jill Kindergarten in Amherst, a member of Questers, Colonial Dames, Amherst Histori- cal Society, Garden Club, Friends of the Amherst Library and a member of the Book Selection Committee. In addition, she was a member of the Congregational Church of Am- herst, UCC. She was predeceased by her hus- band, David T. Ramsay, who died in 2006. Family members include her son and daughter-in-law, James M. and Sarah E. Ramsay of Amherst, NH; a daughter, Leslie A. Ramsay of Man- chester, NH; three grandchildren, Hadley Q. Ramsay, Emily S.
