The Line Hunting supplementary service enables the automatic selection of an available/not

busy access among a specified group of accesses. A general line hunting number (LH-number)

is associated with the line-hunting group.

In order to concentrate the traffic to one or a few accesses, the subscriber is given the

possibility to reduce the number of accesses in the LH-group. This option is called Reduced

hunting (RH).

5.8.2 Access capability

LH, also including the reduced hunting option, can be provided upon subscription service to

PSTN users connected to both S12 and AXE.

5.8.3 User procedures and responses

ANNEX 2: Announcements and display messages

This annex specifies for

ISDN: The use of tones, announcements and display messages within each service.

PSTN: The use of tones and announcements within each service.

Customised spoken and displayed messages are not included in this specification. In-band

messages are only sent to analogue and ISDN speech connections. Repeated sending of

messages (e.g. for QS) are not specified in this document.

Notifications given to ISDN users by means of the Notification indicator information element,

or the Facility information element are not described in this specification.

FOR INFORMATION: IN THE CODE COLUMN, THE FOLLOWING LETTERS

INDICATES:

A Message given in the A exchange or as close as possible

B Message given in the B exchange or as close as possible

I IN-service. Message is given from an appropriate SSP

R After the message is given, release the connection

C After the message is given, continue the connection

X R if not in active call

or

X C if in an active call

IN THE ANNOUNCEMENT TABLE, THE CODE COLUMN HAS THE FOLLOWING

MEANING:

H Expected traffic; high

M Expected traffic; medium

L Expected traffic; low

Note 1: The in-band indications will be the same for both ISDN and analogue connected

users, except for interrogation, which is only applicable for ISDN users. Interrogation request

from analogue connected users will be rejected with the record announcement no. 7 (“wrong

procedures”). The in-band indications specified in this document for interrogation are

therefore only applicable for ISDN users.

Note 2: The display messages for users connected to AXE switches may be slightly different

from what is specified in this document.
