Here it ismost likely one of the best line-ups of genetics Texas Deer Association has ever offered at auction. From

the first lot of the Superior Genetics Auction through the last lot of the Select Sale, I couldnt be more excited about

the deer our members have sent to this great event. And I believe that you will agree.

As you look at the lots in both sales, you will see that there is something for each and every deer breeding

operationbreeder bucks, bred doe, open females with breeding options, 2010 bucks and females, 2011 fawns, 2012

fawns and semen.

Also, you will notice that we no longer have a blue ribbon designation for lots in the sale. That is because our

auction committee voted to move away from using scoring criteria as a means for consignors to qualify for the Select

Sale. We will now be using price-based qualifying for consignors who are invited to consign to the Select Sale in 2012.

The qualifying lots will be the top five (5) high-selling lots in the 2011 August Superior Genetics Auction, the top five

(5) high-selling lots in the 2011 August Select Sale, top ten (10) high-selling lots in the February 2012 Superior

Genetics Auction and the top ten (10) high-selling lots in the March 2012 Superior Genetics Auction. In addition, there

will be invitations extended to the top five (5) volume buyers from those four events based upon dollar amount spent.

Our Stocker Buck Auction will take place on Saturday, August 13 at 10:00 and we hope that you will be in

attendance for that inaugural event. Those deer are listed in your convention catalog and available and available for

download on our website, texasdeerassociation.com. Up-to-date photos of the stocker bucks in that sale will be on hand

sale day.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE

Texas Parks & Wildlife currently restricts the shipment of deer into Texas and all buyers and sellers must comply with TPWcurrent regulations. The laws and regulations in effect at the time of the auction will prevail.

Consignors: Must be a TDA member in good standing to consign and each licensed breeder is limited to the number of lotsallowable for each auction. Only one consignor is allowed per TPWD Breeder ID number.

Minimum or Reserve Prices: Minimum or reserve prices (PO prices) will not be utilized. If the seller does not desire tosell his/her lot for the last announced price in the auction he/she may buy back the lot by bidding on that lot in person at theauction, via a designated agent, via the internet simulcast or over the phone. The commission for seller buy-backs is 12% ofthe last legitimate bid (8% on lots $40,000 or greater) as determined by the auctioneer.

Fees: Seller agrees to pay a $150 consignment fee (check or credit card) at time of consignment submittal and a 12%Commission (8% on lots $40,000 or greater) to TDA upon completion of the sale. Minimum $250 commission. If any lot(s)are removed from the auction by the consignor after the catalog has been sent to the printer a $150 management fee will beincurred.

Descriptions: All descriptions that appear in the catalog have been consequently described by the seller; TDA, neither auctionmanager nor the auctioneer assume any liability for any errors or omissions. * All reasonable efforts must be made by theseller to ensure the accuracy of the information provided for each lot consigned.

Guarantee: Representations and guarantees are strictly between the individual seller and the buyer at the auction. TDA, theauction manager, nor the auctioneer make any representation of warranty, expressed or implied, on the deer or semen as totheir merchantability or their fitness for general or particular purpose, and do further state the deer or semen to be sold asis, and without recourse.

Possession: Seller will maintain possession of his/her deer or semen sold at the auction until delivered or buyer picks up thedeer or semen and full payment is made.

Liabilities: All persons who attend the auction do so at their own risk and TDA, its employees and directors assume no liability,legal or otherwise, for any accidents or miscommunication that may occur.

Contract: The contract is between buyer and seller. TDA is the agent only. The seller is responsible for all permits. When theauctioneer says SOLD, a contractual invoice will be submitted to the buyer for his/ her signature by a designated runner.

Delivery: Delivery of the deer or semen is solely between the buyer and seller and will be arranged according to the deliveryterms provided by seller on the consignment form.

MISSION STATEMENTOF THE

TEXAS DEER ASSOCIATIONTDA is the unified voice of deer enthusiasts who seek to share ideas and methods to improve management and harvest ofdeer. TDA is a Texas deer organization that cares for the welfare and health of deer herds and methods to improve deerquality and hunting quality in Texas. We, as the TDA, are working toward better conservation, appropriate regulations andimproving the overall quality of deer herds in Texas.

Purpose & Goals To promote wise management of deer, recognizing that hunting and management are lifelong enterprises;

To be a repository and clearinghouse of accurate and high quality information and knowledge;

To promote deer herd health and quality through research, technology, and flexible management practices;

To improve the image and awareness of deer management and harvest through public education;

To promote research and technology regarding improvements to deer herds through the practice of controlled breeding and genetic improvements;

To share research findings, management techniques and harvest strategies with the membership of TDA; and

To increase quality hunting opportunities for Texas hunters.

The deer-breeding industry is relatively new to Texas, but data from a 2007 Texas A&M University Economic Impact Study indicates it has a $652 million annual economic impact in Texas, equivalent to the states rice and citrus industries. The industrys economic contributions, especially to rural areas, tourism, real estate, wildlife, game and land management, are beginning to be noticed, not only in Texas, but in states across the nation.

Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples had this to say about TDA:
