President’s Report


Well only the dedicated made the journey to Boondooma Dam for our annual bass comp as well as the Boondooma Fishing Comp that had 1,006 entrants.

There were that many boats on the water I was surprised that we even caught a fish. We caught a lot of undersized fish, but did end up getting a few legal ones.

Carl won the bass trophy with a nice bass on line class, & Joan won the longest yellowbelly (all tackle) & Chris our new member got the longest bass, beating me by half a centimetre. There were 4 prizes up for grabs and 4 members competing for them & I still couldn't win a prize, but I did win the random draw as I was the only one in the running for it. I caught 5 bass with only one legal.

100 METRES OF FISH!!!


Club Notices and Stories


Congratulations to Vic Guse on winning our 100 Metres of Fish Competition.

Vic was first over the line after a period of over 18 months. He caught everything from whiting, flathead and bream to mackerel, red emperor, huge snapper and amberjack. Vic wins a $100 Fishing World Voucher. He was followed by Jim Brennan, Scott Hazzard, Paul Jensen and Howard Morris, but Vic was a clear winner at the finish post.

As we have now introduced our new “length only” Fish of the Month Competition, the committee has decided to discontinue the 100 Metres of Fish Competition. Fish of the Month species are listed on our Club Calendar. So keep submitting those Capture Sheets. Well done, Vic, on your win!!
