Welcome to the Queensland Recreation Centres

The Queensland Recreation Centres on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast are among Australia’s premier recreation centres – combining iconic beachside locations, innovative and modern accommodation and facilities, as well as exciting, class leading recreation activities, programs and personnel.

Our centres offer a fully secured location with best practice risk management, highly trained staff and meticulously maintained activities and equipment to ensure your time with us is safe and enjoyable. Our centres are fully inclusive with wheelchair accessible accommodation, sports and dining areas and experienced instructors trained in modifying activities to deliver safe experiences for people of all abilities.

We offer class leading facilities, up to 480 beds and the option to add our delicious meals and exciting adventure activities to your booking. At Queensland Recreation Centres you can tailor your camp with all-inclusive and modular package options. Our friendly staff will work with you to design a package to suit your needs and budget.

Choose from a variety of modern accommodation configurations, with dedicated teacher and leader cabins and optional linen. We offer a variety of healthy and delicious menus to enjoy during your stay and packed lunches for offsite outings. Select from our unique range of adventure activities and the option of themed programs and curriculum resources to support your camp.

During your stay you can also access a range of sport and recreation facilities including heated pools, indoor and outdoor courts and playing fields perfect for casual entertainment, structured team training sessions or competitions.

Quality accommodation

The Queensland Recreation Centres offer the very best in camp style accommodation. Up to 480 guests can be accommodated at the Gold Coast Recreation Centre and 318 guests at the Sunshine Coast Recreation Centre. Our modern rooms are fitted with either fans or air-conditioning. We also have a number of fully accessible rooms at both sites.

Our dedicated leaders cabins ensure that our adult guests are very comfortable. Each comes with an ensuited bathroom, king single beds and complimentary coffee pods.

During your stay, you can access all of our wonderful facilities and choose to include meals and activities. We can also provide high quality, professionally laundered linen or you can bring your own.

The Queensland Recreation Centres are an ideal choice for corporate team building retreats and family getaways as well as your next camp.

Meal times should be every bit as enjoyable as activities and our staff will be on hand to ensure things run smoothly. Our chefs offer flexible meal choices to cater for dietary requirements and satisfy the Smart Choices—Healthy Food and Drink Supply Strategy recommendations for Queensland schools.

Options are available to upsize your meals as well as provide packed lunches if you are out for the day. For corporate meetings, conferences or those looking for something special, our Premium Menu adds a gourmet touch.

Sports facilities

The Queensland Recreation Centres provide a wide range of traditional sporting facilities. We host all levels of sporting teams from school and community clubs through to professional teams and international athletes.

We provide the best environment to achieve outcomes for your sporting camp or event with affordable accommodation, sports specific fields and courts options for cross training and access to a gymnasium. We also offer meeting rooms for video review sessions, specific areas for medical, strapping and support staff as well as heated pools for post training recovery and rehab.

Curriculum links

The Queensland Recreation Centres themed programs have been designed in consultation with experienced practising teachers to assist in achieving educational outcomes that align with Version 8 of the Australian Curriculum. All our themed programs provide customised teacher and student resources for Year Bands 5/6 and 7/8.

Our curriculum resources support teachers in preparation for camp and maximise the learning outcomes from our themed programs .The resources include pre, during and post camp tasks, videos and classroom activities and can be used as a tool for summative assessment.

You can use all or part of our curriculum resources during your camp experience.

The Queensland Recreation Centres offer dynamic event spaces with a wide range of equipment and features. Our fully-secured sites have an overall capacity of up to 10,000 people. Our spaces come equipped with Wi-Fi and AV facilities and delicious options from our premium menu to complement your meeting or event.
