Erin Brophy (Stage Manager)This is Erin’s third straight experience stage managing a Sunset show, and she is excited to help share this tale

of life and love with the audiences. Erin is hoping to graduate from Carrol University in 2011 with a degree in Theatre Studies.

Matt Daniels (Director)Actor, director, producer, educator, and coach, Matt has appeared in various media, including award-winning in-

dependent films, on television, and on many stages in New York and region-ally. Local audiences may recognize him from stints at Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, In Tandem Theatre, First Stage Children’s Theatre, Lake Geneva Theatre Co., goats & monkeys, and the late Milwaukee Shakespeare.

Matt was a co-founder of goats & mon-keys, and Tyrannosaurus rep in NYC, for which he also served as Artistic Direc-tor. In addition to those companies, his directing work has been seen at 2texans, Inverse Theatre, First Stage Theatre Academy, Broadway Baby, and various Milwaukee area high schools. Matt has taught for Act One Studios (Chicago), The Actors Institute (NYC), and Milwaukee Shakespeare. He currently teaches at First Stage Theatre Academy. He also coaches voice and acting privately, and is an inde-pendent teaching artist in local schools.

Matt is a graduate of the Juilliard School Drama Division.

J. Michael Desper (Resident Designer/Technical Director)J. Michael Desper has designed over 70 productions for Sunset Playhouse

since the summer of 2001. Previ-ously he freelanced in Chicago for such companies as Circle Theatre of Forest Park, Pendulum Theatre, and Bowen Park Theatre and Opera. Before that, he earned his Master’s degree at San Di-ego State University and worked for the Tony Award-winning La Jolla Playhouse. Originally from Oklahoma, Michael earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. In spring 2008, he briefly returned to educational theatre with a stint as Guest Artist and Instructor for North Dakota State University. He would like to extend an invitation to anyone interested in the technical aspects of theatre (and since you have read this far, there must be some interest) to give us a call at (262) 782-4431, ext. 235. We’re already work-ing on the next show, so come be a part of what you see.

Don Devona (Morrie)Don and his wife, Joan, lived overseas for many years where they worked for the school sys-tem that educated

children of Americans who worked abroad. During that time, he was ac-tive in American community theatres in Japan, Germany, France and Italy. Since returning to the states, he has performed in many Milwaukee area theatres, including Waukesha Civic (MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET, MY FAIR LADY, THE VISIT, MAN FOR ALL SEA-SONS, ON GOLDEN POND); Sunset Playhouse (MOON OVER BUFFALO, DON’T DRINK THE WATER); Milwau-kee Chamber Theatre (MEDEA); Next Act Theatre (ROOM SERVICE); Boulevard Ensemble Studio Theatre (I NEVER SANG FOR MY FATHER, THE BUNGLER, THE MILLIONAIRESS, LOUSIANA PURCHASE, THE BIRTHDAY PARTY, GIVE ‘EM HELL-HARRY, THE DUCK VARIATIONS); Soulstice Theatre (TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE).

provided musical direction at Modjeska Youth Theatre for 9 years for shows which included CATS, DREAMGIRLS, and WEST SIDE STORY. She also currently works with Skylight Opera Theatre in their Teaching Artist program, bringing hands-on musical projects to public and private schools. Donna has worked with numerous professional, communi-ty and school theatres including Sunset Playhouse, In Tandem Theatre and Carroll University. Donna’s conduct-ing credits include EVITA, CHESS, and SEUSSICAL. She also frequently directs from the keyboard for such shows as FANTASTICKS, AIDA, and 175 perfor-mances of I LOVE YOU, YOU’RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE! Donna also serves as the Director of Music for Plymouth UCC Church in Milwaukee and the conduc-tor of Wauwatosa Community Band and Tosa Jazz.

Alan Piotrowicz (Lighting Design)Alan returns to Sunset Playhouse following his design for HAIR last season, for which he was honored to receive

the 2010 Volunteer Choice Award for Favorite Lighting. He received his BA in Theatre and Drama from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is a former electrician for the Santa Fe Opera, where he was featured as an apprentice designer. He is proud to have worked for several fine companies in Wisconsin, including Bunny Gumbo Combat Theatre, Danceworks, Falls Patio Players (resident designer), First Stage Children’s Theatre, Four Seasons Theatre, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, Next Act Theatre, Uprooted Theatre, and Young-blood Theatre. Much love to Eric. www.alanpiotrowicz.com

Stephan Roselin (Mitch)Stephan is very hap-py to be performing with The Sunset Playhouse. He has had the pleasure of

performing with Renaissance Theatre-works, First Stage Children’s Theatre, Bunny Gumbo’s Combat Theatre, Next Act Theatre and Playwrights Studio Theatre. Several years ago, he was co-founder of Bialystock and Bloom Theatre Company where he also per-formed and directed. A special thank you goes to Matt and Jonathan for this great opportunity. Hugs and kisses to my 2 wonderful girls at home – Char-lotte and Carolyn.

UPCOMING SHOWS

LET’S CALL THE WHOLE THING GERSHWINWhile songwriters George and Ira Gershwin had stellar individual careers, they will be forever remembered as the team who helped define the sounds and styles of the jazz age, and who then elevated musical theatre to an American art form. From their 1924 Broadway hit, LADY, BE GOOD, until George’s untimely death in 1937, the brothers composed over two dozen scores for Broadway and Hollwood. The Gershwin catalogue includes Porgy and Bess, Rhapsody in Blue, An American in Paris, along with such standards as I Got Rhythm, Someone to Watch Over Me, and The Man I Love. We will be treated to the song stylings of some of the area’s finest singers--Leslie Fitzwater, Becky Spice, Matt McNabb, and Tommy Lueck. They’ll be joined on stage by our Rising Star, Emily Pogorelc. Music Director Paula Foley Tillen will once again be on piano, while narrators Susan Loveridge and Scott Kopischke will provide a few stories about these iconic brothers who made such a lasting impact on the American songbook.March 21 and 22nd, 2011

LOVE, SEX, AND THE I.R.SSharing a room can help a fella save a dime, but sharing a tax return is a little trickier. Jon and Leslie are roomies and good buddies, but the I.R.S. thinks the men are a married couple because of Jon’s money-saving plan to list Leslie as his beloved wife on his tax return. When an audit notice comes due, the bosom buddies do what any self-respecting taxpayer would do: they figure out who looks better in a dress.April 28-May 2nd, 2011
