The Obituary
Johnnie Louis Brown, the son of Martha Ross and the late Walter Powell and Connell Ross, was born at home on November 10, 1951.
Johnnie attended Upchurch High School in Raeford, NC and Roosevelt High School in Bronx, NY. He further his career in Truck Driving School in Bronx, NY. Johnnie worked for many years with Lease Way Trucking Company in Rutherford, NJ.
He attended St. James United Church of God.
Those preceded him in death are: his wife, Linda Brown; his fathers, Walter Powell and Connell Ross; his grandmother, Fannie Smith and his two brothers, Archie L. Ross and Anthony Ross.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Martha Ross; two sons, Richie Brown (Yvonne) of Virginia Beach, VA and Reggie Brown of New York; six brothers, Rickey Ross, Lewis Blue, Robert L. Powell, Artiso Powell, Walter Junior Powell and Louis Blue; six sisters, Diane Ross of Raeford, NC, Cynthia Patterson (Tyrone) of Charlotte, NC, Stephanie Campbell of Southern Pines, NC, Nastassja Ross of Raeford, NC, Deborah Powell Mitchner of Plainfield, NJ and Jackie Powell Graham of Fayetteville, NC; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; two aunts, Callie William of Brooklyn, NY and Dean Smith of New Jersey; two uncles, Butch Ross of Bronx, NY and Benjamin Powell (GoGo) of Raeford, NC; a cousin like his brother, Willie Jones and two special friends, Shirley Hart and Tammy Jones.
