If it seems your new mattresses don’tquite fit your beds, you’re right.Over the years manufacturers havequietly shaved a little off thedimensions. As a result, mostmattresses marketed as standard 36" x 6" x 80" are as much as twoinches smaller in width and length.

With a standard,Trufit or oversizemattress you areable to eliminatethe majority ofgaps that plaguemany bed systems.

The standard mattress comes in thetraditional 35" x 80" size. The Trufitis 36" x 80 ¹⁄₂", better filling the gapbetween the inside of the rails andthe mattress. The oversize is 36 ¹⁄₄" x 82". The additional 1 ¹⁄₂" of lengthcloses the gaps between the mattressand the head and foot panels. Allthree are also available for 76" and84" beds.

Bariatric mattresses Bio Clinic Bariatric mattresses areavailable for the specific needs of the heavier individual. Bio Clinic mattressesare available inthree construction-styles: flat, sidewalland perimeter.While a flat designis right for most applications, thereare some applications that mayrequire a sidewall or perimeterconstruction.

SidewallIn the case of themattress surfacebeing low relative tothe bottom of thesiderail (EntrapmentZone 7), the addedheight of themattress sidewall will help close thegap. The sidewall also offers addedsecurity for the patient when siderailsare not appropriate.

PerimeterThe perimeterdesign consists of an outer rim and aremovable interiorinsert.

Perimeter may be a good choice for beds that otherwise would failcompliance tests for Entrapment Zone 1. The firmer perimeter resistscompression yet the center sectionprovides the patient with therapeuticsupport. This style also allows you torespond to changing care needs bysimply changing the insert.

NylonMoisture, over time, will damagemattress foam. That’s why you needcovers that will not only support goodwound care, but will prevent moisturefrom leaking through to the foam.

Moisture Vapor Transmission Rate(MVT) is the rate with which moisturepasses through a material. Our 210denier nylon cover has a significantlylower MVT rate than competitiveproducts. This assures the longestmattress life. As a matter of fact,almost 10 times more protection than70 denier material.

Transverse StretchThe super-soft Transverse Stretchcover provides greater stretch andconformability as the mattresscompresses for those who are atgreater risk of skin abrasions. Underthe cover lies a moisture barriersleeve which provides addedmoisture resistance. The TransverseStretch cover is an excellent choicewhere wound management is achallenge and moisture is less of a concern.
