The Greek term KOINONIA is in various contexts in the New Testament translated with the English words fellowship, partnership, participation, in common or communion. In Philippians 4:15, Paul pairs the notion of KOINONIA with the Greek term EUANGELION (gospel, good news) when he speaks of the special relationship that he enjoys with the Philippian congregation in regard to "giving and receiving" (financial support) that he says began as soon as he left Philippi and went to Thessalonica (see Acts 17 with Philippians 4:16). I am grateful for the long-standing partnership in the gospel that I have enjoyed with the North "A" congregation now for over seventeen years, and especially for the recent instance of this support as I traveled to teach this month in Cambodia. On Sunday morning I will be offering a report about this teaching trip.
