There are youth and children’s programs, mission trips, Bible studies, the Farmers Market, and more. Before and after vacation, spend some time here at Saint Michael. rector tranSition “converSation” iS today. The second in the summer “Conversations” discussing the calling of a new Rector is today in the Coke Activities Room at 10:00. Join the dialogue with members of the Rector Search and Transition Committee and the Vestry. A special section has been set up on the church website, www.saintmichael.org, to keep parishioners informed during the search process. Two more “Conversations” will be held in June to get parishioners’ input: June 7 at 9:00, and June 28 at 11:15. Childcare is available.

clergy tranSitionS. The Rector, Bob Dannals, has announced the following clergy transitions: Beginning June 8, The Rev. Oliver Butler will become Associate for Youth

and Young Adults, and The Rev. Hunter Ruffin, who graduated from Seminary of the Southwest last week, will become Associate for Mission and Outreach. The Rev. Michael Harmuth, who retired as Chaplain of the Episcopal School of Dallas Lower School, will continue at

Saint Michael as a Sunday Associate. The Rector also announced he has accepted the position of Interim Rector at St. Bart’s Church in New York City beginning in October. Read more about these transitions online at www.saintmichael.org.

Faith and literature SerieS BeginS next Week. The popular summer adult series, Faith and Literature, starts June 7 with Bob Dannals discussing “Homecoming in Scripture and Literature,” based on three books, The Return of the Prodigal Son, Longing for Home, and Searching for Home. On June 14, Lisa Flores will discuss the book, Moon Light Sonata at the Mayo Clinic. The adult class will be in the Coke Activities Room at 11:00. The books are available in the Saint Michael Book Shop.

courtyard and columBarium tourS Scheduled June 7 and 14. Take a stroll and experience the beauty of Saint Michael’s new Nave Courtyard and Columbarium after church on either June 7 and 14. The Columbarium Committee and clergy will provide tours of this wonderful space where the combination of wind, water, and sky are blended to enhance the serenity of our entire campus.

aunt tiSh WantS you to make a pie. As part of our Independence Day Celebration the reception in the Garden Cloister will feature pies of all varieties. Blue Connect Card: Fill out a card to make Prayer Requests, RSVP, register as a guest, or to get more information on Saint Michael. Need Prayer? Want to pray on someone’s behalf, or offer up thanksgivings? Prayer Teams are available to pray with you after each Sunday morning service. An usher can direct you to the various prayer locations.

Volunteers are needed to cook, deliver, or serve dinner at the Austin Street Shelter.

vacation BiBle headS For the hillS (mountain) June 8 – 12. Beginning Monday, June 8 more than 200 Vacation Bible School children will begin their hike to Everest where they will learn about conquering life’s challenges with “God’s Mighty Power.” They will be accompanied on their journey by more than 100 youth and adult volunteers. Vacation Bible school runs from 9:00 to 12:00 Noon each day. There is still time for adults and youth to volunteer. Contact Emily at egiven@saintmichael.org.

Women oF Saint michael giFt $500,000 to 68 charitieS. The Women of Saint Michael at its annual Spring Luncheon funded $500,000 to 68 charities serving the Dallas Community and people in need around the world. The complete list of recipients can be found at www.saintmichael.org. The Women also gave $25,000 to the Jubilee Park and Community Center to build a paved walking path around the park’s green space. The funds were raised through the St. Michael’s Woman’s Exchange

and the Parish Party.

JuBilee needS reading partnerS For the Fall School term. Jubilee Park is recruiting tutors for this fall to work with elementary school students who are reading below grade level. One can volunteer for as little as one hour a week and work with the same student year-round. Formal teaching experience is NOT required. chaperone a JuBilee Summer camp Field trip. Jubilee Park’s Summer Camp is taking three field trips to exciting Dallas area attractions and needs volunteer Chaperones. SteWardShip Building enthuSiaStic team. The numbers of Stewardship Team members for 2016 are nearing 100, with nearly three-fourths of them returning from last year’s committee. “We invite anyone and everyone to join our dynamic Stewardship Committee and help us make a difference,” say stewardship chairs Mary and Rosser Newton. communicationS StaFF memBer puBliSheS children’S Book. Saint Michael’s graphic designer and production coordinator, Sherilyn Jones, has written and illustrated a new children’s book, Created to Be. It helps children learn that God has a special purpose for them by showing the purpose God had for the Holy Family, Mary, Joseph, and the baby Jesus. Created to Be is available in the Saint Michael Book Shop.

edge Bake Sale raiSeS $600 +. Last week’s (4th and 5th graders) Edge Bake Sale raised more than $600, despite the rain. The money will be used to place four “Little Free Libraries” in Jubilee Park. A “Little Free Library” is a box filled with books where anyone can pick-up a book and bring back a book for others to share. On Friday, June 12 the Edgers will install the “Little Free Libraries” which they built over the past couple of months. Total cost of the project is about $1,000. If you can help make up the difference, contact Erika Bower at ebower@saintmichael.org.
