Well follow a chronological plan developed by George Guthrie in Readers Guide to the Bible. Guthries book guides readers through each secon of scripture by providing a brief commentary with quesons at the end of each week—great for individual reflecon or small group discussion. Of course, books are not required to follow along with the weekly reading, but copies will be available for $10 in the church office. FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY Sundays / January 21 - March 18 / 6:00pm / $109 per couple FBC is excited to host Dave Ramseys well-known and trusted money- management class, Financial Peace University! Do you want to learn how to become a beer steward of the financial resources God has entrusted to your care? Would you like to learn how you can get out of debt, plan for your future, and be beer equipped to give generously? Financial Peace University is a nine-lesson video series and money- management class led by local volunteer coordinators. Class will meet for around 90 minutes on Sunday nights to watch a video and discuss the lesson. Class materials are included with your registraon fee and include a member workbook and an easy-to-use cash management tool known as the envelope system.Our desire is for everyone who is interested to have the opportunity to aend, therefore, childcare will be available for parcipants with children ranging in age from birth to 5th grade. READ THROUGH THE BIBLE IN 2018

There is still time to join us as we read through the Bible together as a church in 2018! We’ll follow a chronological plan developed by George Guthrie in Reader’s Guide to the Bible. The application deadline is January 10th—contact pastor Steven for more information or pick up an application in the Youth Room. There will be a team meeting January 28th at 4:00pm in the Youth Room. Sunday Night Small Groups

Sunday night small groups will resume January 14th. Any changes to host locations will be communicated and posted to Facebook, once details are known. Stay tuned for more details! Mission Trips Applications and deposits for the middle school mission trip to Street Reach, Memphis ($50 deposit), and the high school mission trip to New York City ($100 deposit) are due by January 21st. Applications are available in the Youth Room.

*No iKids January 3rd We are excited about what the new year brings to Wednesday night Bible study for your children! We will introduce a fresh, new line-up of six-week-long topics this semester, including:

“What is Prayer?” — taught by Dena Chancellor “What is a quiet time?” — taught by Jeremy Woodall “Life Issues” —taught by Corin Reed

As a reminder, children will be grouped by grade level and will rotate to a new topic every six weeks. By the end of the semester, students will have heard “mini-lessons” under each of the three main topics!

ADULT MIDWEEK

Fellowship Hall / 12pm / $4

Did you know we have a midweek meal, prayer time, and devotional for adults of all ages—all in an hour? If you ever find yourself in need of a mid-week “pick-me-up,” join us every Wednesday at noon for food and fellowship, followed by a time of prayer and a short devotional from Pastor Will.

From December’s ALT Meeting: Doug Mullins was nominated as Chair for 2018 Agreed to obtain bids for security cameras; we are in the process of

obtaining quotes from three vendors. Agreed to obtain bids on flooring in nursery area; bids were

obtained, contract went to Hayes flooring; work will begin mid-January.

Discussed needs for revision to church policies related to vehicle and facility usage; will be revisited in 2018.

FBC is excited to once again partner with the Living Water organization

to send a mission team to El Salvador to help drill a well and provide a

community with access to safe, clean drinking water in Jesus’ name.

Please be in prayer for your role in this year’s mission—sign-up will

begin this month. The dates of this year’s trip will be August 4th

through August 11th and the cost is $2,000 per participant.

CHILDREN’S CHOIR

The spring semester of Children’s choir begins January 17th. Rehearsals will take place every Wednesday, beginning at 5pm. Children aged pre-K through 5th grade are invited to join—no experience required!

Check-in will be at the kiosks in front of the gym. A snack will be provided in the fellowship hall before we get started.
