Welcome to Cavy! Today 10:15am — Jeremy Scott leads S4E (Something for Everyone) When I run I feel His (Gods) pleasureToday @ 5.30pm Shared Tea followed by screening of Chariots of Fire We celebrate with Colin Dawson today who turned 90 on Wednesday….good news concerning Joan Duncan who had unexpected surgery this week. Roly and Trudy had an excellent time in Auckland, enjoying a great day at Carey College and meeting up with Young Sam Young (you may remember him from earlier in the year). We also met up with most of the people we began training at Carey College at the beginning of 1974. All are still seeking to follow Jesus in a wide range of settings. That was so encouraging. We were in Auckland so I could take Tony and Nola Dicks daughter Amys wedding to Martin somewhere north-east of Auckland. Tony headed up our last major building programme and Nola created our Five Purposes banner at the front of the church. You prayed for Toby Hope last Sunday — sadly he didnt recover from the accident and Paul Caldwell and I participated in a service for him at John McGlashan College on Friday. Are you wondering what we do? Some of the things we do are visit/phone and pray for church people in their homes or in hospital, visit and take communion to those who can no longer come to church (e.g. those in rest homes), arrange shared meals and events to foster community within our church (e.g. soup Sunday, church concert, hymn-along, church picnic) and dream up ways of pastorally caring for people. One of our youth Zoey Louise is looking to earn some extra cash. She is willing to do gardening, mowing lawns and baby sitting. She has past and present experience as a baby sitter. To contact her please call 020 4157 0629
