We invite you to experience our 4-week summer program for ESL students.

AcademicsOur four-week classroom curriculum is designed around each student’s continued mastery of English and math skills. Our classes consist of ESL English, math, and studio art courses. Students who are new to studying the English language have the op-portunity to attend two ESL English classes in addition to a math class every day. For our intermediate to advanced English-speak-ing students, they have the opportunity to substitute a studio art class for one English course. All work is assigned based on indi-vidual assessment and progression.

ActivitiesTo complement the academic learning that takes place in our classrooms, we sched-ule daily physical activity each weekday as well as culturally or entertainment-focused weekend excursions. Weekday activities take place, after our last class of the day,

on both our campuses and at other locations in the Charlottesville area. These activities include swimming, soccer, tennis, and other team games geared at lifelong fitness and teamwork. Friday night and weekend activi-ties take our students off campus to experi-ence other adventures offered by our beauti-ful state of Virginia. These activities include trips to an amusement park, Monticello–the home of Thomas Jefferson, local outdoor at-tractions, and performances as well as a sum-mer-culminating all-day trip to Washington, D.C. to see some of our nation’s most valued and educational locations.

ResidencesStudents live on our Greenway Rise Campus in our attractive and spacious boarding facil-ities. Our dormitories are arranged in suites hosting 4-6 students. Depending on the size of the room, 2-3 students live in one room on either side of a shared bathroom.

LocationFounded in 1910, St. Anne’s-Belfield School has provided high quality education to its students for over 100 years. Our campus is located in the heart of Charlottes-ville, Virginia, 100 miles from Washington, D.C., on two campuses totaling nearly 50 acres. Students attending our ESL Summer Program are provided all the oppor-tunities of being part of the Charlottesville community.
