PECO has more than 1,200 reclosers on its electric distribution system across the Greater Philadelphia region. With trees as the leading cause of power outages, tree clearance around aerial power lines is vital for maintaining strong electric service reliability.

S• In Spring 2009, began conducting aerial patrols to inspect transmission towers, nearly 1,000 miles of aerial high-voltage lines and other equipment in York, Chester, Delaware, q p , , ,Montgomery, Bucks and Philadelphia counties.
