Qualified students will take course work in one or more of the following deficient subject areas (as determined by MSU Admis- sions) plus a required learning skills laboratory: Deficient Coursework Offered: Developmental English Developmental Mathematics Developmental Reading Required Course: Learning Skills Lab Classroom instruction, seminars, career- counseling/mentoring and computer-assisted tutorials are included in the program. Addition- ally, the student will receive counseling and support necessary to matriculate successfully in the academic and social community of the University. These courses do not count toward graduation, but do qualify for institutional credit. Upon successful completion of the program, with a grade of “C” or higher in relevant course work including the learning skills lab, the stu- dent will be able to enroll as a freshman during the fall semester. Any student who does not meet the exit requirements of the program will be advised of other educational alternatives and will be assisted in pursuing those options. Who can attend? Students who are referred by their high school counselors, MSU or other university admissions counselors (usually based upon ACCUPLACER scores) OR students who desire an enhancement program may attend. The Summer Developmental Program

2016 Dates and Deadlines

1) Register online by Friday, May 27.

2) Print and fax Immunization Form to Longest

Student Health Center at 662-325-8888 by

Friday, May 27. Print form from

health.msstate.edu/healthcenter/forms/

mmrform.pdf

3) Complete 2015-2016 FAFSA (Free Application

for Federal Student Aid) by May 27, 2016 at

sfa.msstate.edu. A separate FAFSA will need

to be submitted for the Fall semester.

4) Check with the Financial Aid Office at

sfa.msstate.edu for other assistance/deadlines.

5) Apply for housing at my.housing.msstate.edu.

Select Summer Session I and II and submit the

$75 application fee. Be prepared with MSU ID

& method of payment. Move-in after 2 pm,

Tuesday, May 31. See “What to Bring” List at

housing.msstate.edu/future-residents/moving-in

6) Obtain a one-time FREE parking permit/map

prior to move-in/orientation at

sdp.msstate.edu/accuplacer/visitor-parking

7) Attend Orientation: Wednesday, June 1at 9 am

Mitchell Memorial Library Auditorium (1st floor).

Parent(s) or guardian(s) are welcome.

8) Attend classes beginning Thursday, June 2.

Classes end Wednesday, July 27. No more that three absences are allowed.
