REGISTRATION DATES/INFORMATION YMCA Members: Begins Monday, March 2nd Non-members: Begins Monday, March 9th
Registration: Registration can be done on-line or in person. One emergency packet is required for each child and must be completed and turned in by Monday, May 4th. If you register after this date the Emergency Packet is due at the time of registration. A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit is due for each week of camp you are reserving at the time of registration.
Camp Payments: Payments must be made in full 7 days prior to the start of each camp week. If payment is not made in full 7 days prior to the start of each camp week, you will be charged a $10 late fee.

DAY CAMP INFORMATION All camps run from 9am-4pm, with included extended hours from 7-9am and 4-6pm.
Summer Day Camp is a super-lively, full-day enrichment program focused on quality, age-appropriate activities, safety and fun! Campers will experience new discoveries, develop new skills, and make new friends along the way. Kids stay motivated and are encouraged to make good choices by exercising independent thinking.
Kids will learn new things while they make friends and have fun along the way. Each week is packed with an amazing variety of activities including field trips, swimming, themed special events, playing at local parks, creating crafts, exploring through science and nature activities, nutritional and fitness education, and more!

Your child can choose one of our three options each week to try their hand at a new interest or adventure. Specialty activities will run from 9am-12pm with traditional camp activities after lunch. Specialty groups are limited in size, so be sure to register for your adventure early.

SPORTS SPECIALTY CAMP We are very excited to again offer Sports Specialty Camps. These camps are for campers looking for a stronger emphasis in a specific sport. All aspects of the game will be taught, with plenty of practice time as well as scrimmages and lots of action. Campers will learn good sportsmanship and teamwork, while strengthening their skills. Beginning players as well as experienced players will have a great time in camp.
SPECIALTY CAMP OPTIONS Theater: Take your act to the stage. Campers will be introduced to the fine art of acting by participating in improv games, rehearsing scenes and conquering their stage fright. Lights, camera, action.
Painting: Have you always wanted to paint but did not know the first thing about it? In this class you will learn everything to get started in the wonderful world of fine arts! You will learn to express yourself with colors and learn basic painting techniques.
Jewelry Making: Accessories make an outfit! In this camp, you make the jewelry to jazz up any outfit. Learn to make bracelets, anklets, necklaces, earrings and more. Create for yourself or give as gifts.
Dance: 5, 6, 7, 8... Dance! Throughout the week your child will be introduced to a variety of dance styles. They will learn the basics of each category and culminate the week with a choreographed routine.
My Scrap Life: Bring your pictures, ideas and a smile for a week-long scrap-mania party! We will create a scrapbook of your choice from baby pictures, vacations or your best friend. With a variety of paper, stickers, buttons, ribbon and more, you won't want to leave the room.
Cheerleading: For girls interested in developing cheer and tumbling skills. Campers will learn cheers, tumbling, and dance routines. No experience necessary!

Princess Academy: During this magical week each camper seeks to earn the title of “True Princess.” We will use drama, dancing, and lots of arts and crafts as we explore several fairy tales as well as proper princess etiquette. Our week will culminate with a Royal Tea and Crowning Ceremony where our happy campers will dress and dine as true royalty.
Glee: Join us for a week of singing and dancing to your favorite Glee songs! Learn to perform show-stopping numbers and discover what it takes to put together the type of performances you see each week on Glee! There will be dancing, acting and singing all wrapped up in a fun packed week.
Babysitting: Learn all you need to know to be a family’s dream babysitter. Babysitting is a great way to earn money and it’s important to be prepared for all the adventures you may encounter. You will get to learn age appropriate cooking skills, games, activities, and arts-n-crafts to do when you supervise children.
LegoMania: We love Legos! Campers will spend at least three hours a day building towers, mazes, bridges and testing their minds and imaginations with each new adventure. There will also be free-play time each day.
We Dig Dinosaurs: Campers will jump into a time machine to experience all things Jurassic. From fossil hunting to matching dinosaur bones, children will have a dino-riffic week!
Wacky Science: This camp is designed for exciting fun hands-on science activities. Your child will become a junior scientist for the week, having the opportunity to experience a variety of science adventures. Children will design, create, build and assemble a variety of interesting projects.
Where in the World...: Get ready for adventure! Children will soak up the cultures of different areas without even leaving camp. Explore values and lifestyles through art, music, dance, games and cooking.
Harry Potter: Dive in to the imaginative world of Harry Potter at the Lake View Y. Activities will be derived from your favorite Harry Potter scenes. Join us in our version of Quidditch, mix brews and potions (edible ones of course), dress up as their favorite character, and participate in our version of the Tri-Wizard Tournament.
Space Camp: If you are an outer space fan this camp is for you. We will be exploring our galaxy as well as imagining other galaxies. Activities will vary, but may include special space games, launching rockets, designing solar systems, mapping our solar system, etc.
Under the Big Top: Come one, come all to the greatest camp on earth! Join this wild and wacky circus troupe. Learn magic, funny tricks, learn about circus animals, arts & crafts and the science of what makes the circus fun.

POLICIES
BEFORE/AFTER SCHOOL CARE REGISTRATION DATES/INFO Children participate in a balanced program of open play and structured activities while being supervised by well-trained and caring staff.
Children get involved in a variety of learning activities in addition to program components such as, recreation, health enhancement, arts and humanities, nutritional snacks, character development, and homework assistance. YMCA School Age programs ensure that children are given a unique mix of activities that focus on developmental assets, the building blocks that teach children how to make positive and intelligent decisions throughout life.
Registration begins May 18th for members, and June 1st for non-members. Registration must be done in person at the Lake View YMCA.

FEES, TRANSFERS, CANCELLATIONS, REFUNDS For all camps, a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit per week must be paid for each week you register your child(ren). This is credited toward your camp fees. The balance of your fee is due 7 days prior to each scheduled week of camp. If payment in full is not made 7 days prior to the start of each camp week, you will be charged a $10 late fee.
Transfers will be accommodated only if there is space available in the week you would like to transfer to. Cancellations will forfeit the non-refundable, non-transferable deposit. Refunds will be issued with a doctor's note. Refunds will not be issued for individual days missed.
SCHOLARSHIPS With the YMCA, everyone can afford to keep their kids healthy and safe this summer!
Scholarships are available for those needing help to pay for camp through Action for Children. If you qualify, Action for Children assistance can be applied for all weeks of summer camp. Applications for assistance through Action for Children may be picked up at the Member Service Desk. You may also contact Action for Children directly at 312.823.1100 or by visiting www.actforchildren.org
Action For Children is state provided assistance. You do not have to be a YMCA member to qualify.
If you do not qualify or were denied funds through Action for Children, you may apply for funds through the Lake View YMCA. Lake View has scholarships available through our Annual Campaign, which is supported by donations and gifts from staff, members and the community. YMCA Scholarship forms are available at the Member Services Desk. Assistance is based on annual income, family size, and supporting documentation.
A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit per week is required to hold your child's spot in camp, even if you have applied for Action for Children or a YMCA Scholarship. This deposit may be applied to your co-pay. For more information on financial assistance or scholarships, contact us at 773.248.3333.
THIRD PARTY PAYMENTS When Action for Children or Y scholarships are utilized for third party payments by camp families, approval must be received PRIOR to a camper's starting the program or the family will have to pay the camp fee in full.
LIABILITY STATEMENT The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago does not carry medical, accident, or loss of personal property insurance for any program participants, due to the fact that it would drastically increase the cost of our program fees. Please review the insurance policies that protect you and your family to be certain that proper coverage is in place.

YMCA Camp DuncanSince 1921, Camp Duncan has provided safe, quality camping programs for boys and girls ages seven to 15 and Teen Adventure Camps for 15 to 17 year olds. All activities are geared to the developmental level of the campers. Camp Duncan is a co-ed, summer resident camp located near Fox Lake, Illinois, on 278 acres.
YMCA Camp MacLeanCamp MacLean is located just two miles east of Burlington, Wisconsin, just 20 minutes from Lake Geneva, on 247 acres of woods and grassland property. The camp offers fun and challenging activities such as swimming, climbing, boating, kayaking, archery, hiking, and much more. We also leave room for plenty of traditional programs, including sing-alongs, campfi res and campouts.
YMCA Camp PinewoodTraditional but up-to-date, Camp Pinewood features 16 cabins on a private, spring-fed lake, with every activity from sailing to horseback riding. The camp is nestled in the heart of the Manistee National Forest near Muskegon, Michigan. It’s convenient but remote enough to ensure that everyone enjoys the natural beauty of the camp’s 200-acre facility.
YMCA Family Camp NawakwaFamily Camp Nawakwa offers a unique experience- an opportunity to bring together whole families, not just children, through camping. The camp sits on 180 acres of pristine forest lands, and includes wetlands and lakes with abundant wildlife. The camp is nestled in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin, which is home to the Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians.
YMCA Camp IndependenceCamp Independence is a special place for campers age seven and up with spina bifi da and other neurological disabilities. At camp kids become a community as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group. At camp, we teach self-reliance, a love for nature, and the development of attitudes and practices that build character. Our counselors are dedicated to making sure camp is an amazing experience for every camper.
