    class will show you how to see art in everyday objects and teach you to be more creative.

    BOB DOSTERS CLAY CAMP Ages 9 & up

    What a great way to be introduced to clay! Bob Doster, a local artist known best for his metal

    work and clay creations, will be hosting this fun filled camp. Campers will complete one clay

    project each day from monster and head fish to coil and thrown pottery. Some projects will

    be glazed and all will be fired. No special skills or materials required. Finished pieces can be

    picked up the following week.

    Inspired by NASA and Star Wars, our Space Adventures camp with LEGO bricks is packed

    full of models that will make your young Adventurers imagination blast off! Each day, campers

    will learn about real-life space exploration and build models related to the NASA space program(including shuttles, satellites, and robots!). In addition, the day includes LEGO Star Wars

    themed models (including droids, battles ships, and light sabers), group games, challenges and

    FLYERS FULL DAY CAMP Ages 6-11

    Children will engage in activities that encourage creativity, social relationships, appropriatebehavior, and positive self-image. Each week there will be a different theme. Pick and choose

    as many sessions as you want. Campers need to arrive no later than 9:30am. Space is limited

    at each summer site. A $25 Non-Refundable Deposit is required to reserve a spot for your child

    for each desired summer session. Remaining weekly balances need to be paid seven days in

    GOLF CAMP Ages: 5-14

    Hosted by Total Golf Adventures (TGA), this unique golf camp will teach the proper golf set-up,

    swing fundamentals, and basic etiquette of the game in a fun and enjoyable environment. In

    addition, our Play the Fair Way with TGA Character Development Initiative ensures that

    students learn values in TGAs program that will positively impact their lives on and off the

    course. Class size is limited so sign up early. All equipment will be provided. Camp is taught

    JR. POLICE CAMP Ages 8-13

    Aspiring young police officers can register to attend the weeklong Jr. Police Camp held by FortMill Police Officer and School Resource Officer, David Bivins. The purpose of the Jr. Police Camp

    is to provide law enforcement education for future outstanding citizens. We focus on team

    building, leadership, conflict resolution, character education, physical fitness, and juvenile law

    and police procedures such as fingerprinting and evidence collection. Each camper is

    responsible for bringing a bag lunch each day of camp. There are a maximum number of 20

    campers per session, so register early. Deadline for camp registration is seven days prior tocamp starting; one session only please. This camp is open to those children enrolled in the

    Fort Mill School system.

    MAD SCIENCE: CRAZY CHEMWORKS Ages 6-11This action-packed camp explores the chemistry of everyday life! Kids will both learn and apply

    with the principles of flight! Campers will construct different airplanes then test their designs in

    a wind tunnel. Over the course of the week, junior test pilots will launch a variety of flyingmachines including; balloon copters, a hovercraft, paper airplanes, kites, Frisbees, parachutes,

    MINI ART CAMP Ages: 6-12

    Join us this summer for art classes with Jett Buskirk. Learn basic elements and principles of

    design while exploring various styles of arts and crafts. Classes held Monday, Wednesday and

    Friday mornings for two one-week sessions. Children who sign up for both camps will be

    making brand new projects during the second session. Most supplies are provided.

    There is a $7 supply fee for paint brushes, markers and glue (items to take home)

    READING GIRAFFE Ages 3-5Children like to read its just a part of being a kid! But they LOVE to read when stories come

    to life! Our campers will EXPERIENCE some of the most creative and fun childrens books,combining the classics with present-day favorites. But reading is just the beginning We make

    each book a hands-on, interactive adventure, as Reading Giraffe includes role-playing, arts and

    crafts and high-energy games and activities built around our books themes and characters.

    CAMPS ON THE GREENWAY!

    ART ON THE FARM Ages: 5 & 6Come join us for a week filled with explorations of life on the farm. Well investigate the life of

    farmers, their animals (large and small) while crafting our own farm experiences. Old shoes

    and clothes a must as we will get down and dirty! Hikes and the creek will provide lots of fundown on the farm! Camp will meet at the Dairy Barn.

    BACK TO THE WOODS Ages 7-13

    Return to Anne Springs Close Greenway for a sequel of Close To Nature Camp. We will take the

    activities from last summer and raise the bar! Campers will be instructed in water safety,

    fishing (catch and release), problem-solving activities, hiking, orienteering, shelter building and

    fire building. If you loved Close To Nature Camp, you are in for a treat! Each child is to bring

    their own lunch and a water bottle. A beverage is available each day. Camp meets each day atthe Rush Pavilion off of Bypass 21.

    Close to Nature, conducted on the Anne Springs Close Greenway, is an exciting place for your

    youngster to learn about nature and the great outdoors. Campers will be instructed and

    participate in canoeing, kayaking, camping skills, nature crafts, campfire, archery, hiking and

    more. Our staff is well trained and motivated to provide the best possible camp experience for

    your child. Each child is to bring their own lunch. A beverage is available each day. Camp

    meets each day at the Rush Pavilion off of Bypass 21.

    MOUNTAIN BIKE CAMP Ages: 9-14Come join the new era. Learn new technical riding skills or just gain more confidence on the

    bike while riding trails. Mountain biking is a sport where self-esteem is gained and adrenalinruns free. These camps are geared for boys and girls between the ages of 9-14. Your child must

    already know how to ride a bike. Camp will run Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Tuesday

    and Wednesday camp will run 9:00am-1:00, Thursday camp will run from 9:00am 5:00pm

    with your child bringing his/her bathing suit, towel and for well bike to the Recreation Complex,

    swim and return. Campers need to bring a bag lunch each day. Campers will be dropped off

    WOODLAND ADVENTURERS DAY CAMP ON THE GREENWAY Ages 8-14Inspire your child's sense of nature with WOODLAND ADVENTURERS! This innovative and

    inspiring summer camp for kids 8-14 is developed with nature as the playground and the daysare filled with learning, teamwork, and fun. Kids will have the chance to unplug and get away

    without traveling far from home. No cell phones or video games, just the sounds of nature and

    laughter. Set in the beautiful woodlands of the Anne Springs Close Greenway, kids will enjoy

    the challenge of our low ropes course and participate in programs that offer uniquely different

    CAMPS AT SPRINGMAID MOUNTAIN!

    BEYOND THE CAMPFIRE Ages: 8-14Revamped, innovated and inspiring, Beyond the Campfire is a one week summer resident camp

    at Springmaid Mountain. Located in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, Beyond the Campfire is a

    picturesque and unique setting for summer camp. Experience outdoor education, enrichmentand loads of laughter for boys and girls with programs ranging from hikes, camp fire building,

    themed meals, team building, archery, fishing (catch & release), crafts, tubing on the ToeRiver, camp songs, flag ceremony, swimming and more. A deposit of $100 must be paid whenregistering. Parents are responsible for transportation. Remaining balance is due June 15.

    HORSE CAMP AT SPRINGMAID MOUNTAIN Ages: 9-14

    Horse Camp was established by enthusiasts for boys and girls who love horses and riding.Lessons are based on current skill levels with graduated steps to promote self-esteem and

    confidence. There is limited space for true beginners (who have never ridden a horse). Camp

    will also include tubing, fishing, hiking, swimming, and crafts. Camp is held on a mountain topin Spruce Pine, NC, home of Springmaid Mountain, where the summer is cool and the fun is

    too. Parents are responsible for transportation. Space is limited. A deposit of $100 must be

    PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICY FOR CAMPS

    Reservations for camps are made in person at the Recreation Complex on the Greenway. Fullpayment is due at the time of application by cash, check, or credit card. Checks should be

    made payable to the Anne Springs Close Greenway (ASCG).

    There is a $30 fee (or maximum allowed) on all returned checks.

    Cancellations made prior to the start of camp will receive a refund minus a $25

    cancellation fee.

    Transfers from one camp to another (with the exception of FLYERS) may be done two weeks in

    advance with a $9 Service Fee. FLYERS Summer Sessions, Equestrian Day Camp andSpringmaid Mountain Camps have a non-refundable $25 deposit for each registered session.

    Once camp has begun, no refunds are available for any reason. Registration is on a first come,

    first served basis. To receive the member rate, memberships with the Complex must stay

    current through the completion of camp.
