A GMU College of Science Summer Camp for Females of Color Underrepresented in STEM F.O.C.U.S. is a one-week long summer camp for rising 6 th , rising 7 th , and rising 8 th graders. The camp, designed by the STEM Accelerator Program (GMU), will expose middle school age females of color to a variety of disciplines in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) including: Biology Physics Mathematics Geography Geology Forensic Science Chemistry Design & Innovation Engineering STEAM, STEM-H Throughout the week, the students will learn how to apply critical thinking methods to fun and creative problem solving activities. The Leadership and Entrepreneurship component of the camp will give the students an opportunity to meet successful women who currently work for leading organizations and/or own their own business. If you are in need of a financial scholarship (full or partial), please indicate that on your application. Limited scholarships are available so be sure to submit your application by the scholarship deadline of April 21, 2014 .
