TRIBUTES Donations made in Honor of or in

Memoriam of the following:

“Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” Hebrews 13:16

Although you may not need a bus, TOMAGWA offers tours of the clinic on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Not only do the tours showcase our new beautiful facility, but more importantly they

encompass the spirit and mission of TOMAGWA. We accommodate tours between 8:30 and 4:00 but when necessary will provide tours outside of those times. These tours are sometimes the initial contact point through which community members become friends, donors, and volunteers. Please consider hosting a tour for your friends, business acquaintances, Sunday school classes, neighbors, etc. Any number of guests can be accommodated. The tour begins in the community room at the clinic, so if your group needs a meeting place, you can hold your meeting at the clinic and the tour can be an added extension. All you do is contact Laura King at the clinic [email protected] or 832-875-6731, set up a date and time, invite your friends, and show up! The staff will take care of the rest. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to share your love of TOMAGWA and it is a vital ingredient to the successful expansion of our mission. Schedule your tour today!

TOMAGWA recently started its first English as a Second Language (ESL) class! The class began with 15 students, most of whom are patients of the Clinic. The instructor says that the students are active participants and interested in learning English. Due to the student’s interest and the instructor’s diligence, the ESL class will continue as an ongoing ministry of the Clinic. Classes are held in the conference room at TOMAGWA on Wednesdays from 5:00-6:30 p.m. We are excited about this outreach to our community!

Beat The Rush

In addition to our regularly scheduled Thursday morning immunization clinic times, we are offering two additional full-day community immunization clinics to meet the needs of the 2011-2012 school year. A parent or legal guardian must accompany the child and bring the child’s shot record. The dates and times of these additional clinics are:

--Thursday, August 11, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.--Thursday, August 18, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

During the summer, immunizations may bescheduled by appointment on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

The Magnolia area will hold its Immunization Clinic at First Baptist Church of Magnolia on Saturday, August 6, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.

For more information, please call TOMAGWA at 281-357-0747.

TOMAGWA HealthCare Ministries benefited from The 1st Annual Christmas Parade of Trees Christmas Party on December 20, 2010. The Party was hosted by The Village at Gleannloch Farms. Hundreds of local residents from the greater Houston area flocked to the Parade of Trees during the ten day event. On the final evening, the Christmas Tree aficionados came to enjoy holiday cheer mixed with the spirited bidding for 34 beautifully decorated trees. The Event Coordinators reported that proceeds exceeded expectations, with a total of $5,700 received in bid commitments. These funds benefitted two local charities: Krause Children’s Center and TOMAGWA HealthCare Ministries.

Christmas Tree Auction Draws A Crowd and Exceeds Goals for Local Charities

“The turnout was just fantastic, and all 34 of our donated trees were successfully auctioned,” said Kathy Johanns, executive director of TheVillage at Gleannloch Farms. “We were thrilled to have so many people come in and show their support for the community and be able to help these two worthwhile organizations. We intend to do this every year, and hope for an even larger turnout next year!’

The decorated trees were donated by area businesses and schools to help raise funds for the two local charities and featured every kind of theme imaginable—including a chocolate tree, a veterans tree, and a Texas A&M-themed tree. Next year, the community plans to hold a bid-off between a Texas Aggie-themed tree and a Texas Longhorn-themed tree—with the school rivalry expected to drive bids to new heights.

“No Government Money” Attracted Me

settled in the Spring Creek area back in the 1850s. According to Chris they settled that spot specifically “because it was nearest the available water.” He has family still there on the old homestead.

How did he end up working in Tomball? It was his grandfather who first established the Pinehurst Country Store in 1926. And his dad was a remarkable salesman in his own right; if you know Chris, then you’d know his dad probably could have sold bluebonnets to Brenham City Hall…in April!

So not surprisingly, at just 18 years of age, Chris Hardee owned his own Mobile gas station. And since then he’s owned a fence & decking company, a glass company, and now three separate Century 21 real estate offices; located in Tomball, Magnolia and Waller.”

How did you come into contact with TOMAGWA?

Chris Hardee: At the Lion’s Club. They came and gave their 10-minute presentation. I saw that it was a great alternative to government involvement.

What was your favorite part of the TOMAGWA presentation?CH: Just that they didn’t take government money. I’m that way. And also that they’re a Christian organization. If they want to hand out Bibles, they couldn’t do that with government assistance.

“The Bible says to help the poor,” Chris said thoughtfully.

“And he doesn’t just talk about it. He actually does something.

He has an LED sign in front of his Tomball Pkwy North location (straight across from Lone Star College) where he runs TOMAGWA promotions. And 35,000 vehicles pass his sign daily, according to Emmanuel Samson (TX DoT’s expert on traffic counts). Along this route, the gross impressions per day for TOMAGWA is significant.”

“We need more things like TOMAGWA,” Chris said concluding our time together.

A member of TOMAGWA’s Communications Committee recently sat down and chatted with our friend Chris Hardee.

“I found out that there are many sections to Chris Hardee’s patchwork quilt of life.
