FORCUSTOMERSATISFACTIONWe work really hard here to ensure our aftercare is the best available. We were therefore

delighted to be announced the top dealer in JCB’s customer satisfaction survey. The telephone

based survey is run by an independent research company who contact customers (who have had

warranty work completed) to understand their experiences of dealing with the JCB distribution

network. Based on the results a league table is published quarterly and then the annual league is

announced at the end of the year. Happily we were 1st in the league table for 2015. Thanks to

any customer that took part. We’re working hard to make sure we retain this position this year.

Last month we were very happy to celebrate

the TCH Group’s 85th birthday. Over 300

customers joined us at an open day at our

Derby depot last month which combined the

launch of the JCB 3CX Compact and the JCB

Hydradig with a fantastic performance by JCB’s

famous Dancing Diggers. Shot by a drone this

gives an impressive aerial view of the machines

performing their stunts. If you’d like to see

We were fortunate that long standing

customer, JC Balls, lent us their special 70th

Anniversary machines for the occasion. These

nostalgic backhoe loaders combine the latest

specifications with a retro paint finish and are

proving to be very popular with customers

– Abba, Taylor Lindsey, Long Eaton Plant

Hire and J C Balls have become the latest

companies to order machines.

Also on hand during the day was a team from

the CTA operator training school; a trusted

partner for our business and a much-in-

demand service for our customers who need

a regular supply of machine operators. If you

didn’t manage to attend and would like more

details please don’t hesitate to contact us at

your local depot.

Dan Hart, Service Supervisor at our Chapeltown HQ is taking on a huge challenge, all in the

name of charity. He and friend, Calvin Marsland, have signed up to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in

Tanzania in June 2017 to raise funds for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity. The epic duo

have taken on a number of fundraising events before, but this is the most extreme.

WELCOMEAs we write this edition of our customer newsletter the news and media is dominated with the EU referendum. Whilst we are not letting it affect what we do here, there’s no doubt that it’s a distraction. We’re hoping by the time you read this we will have gone to the polls, voted and we can plan for the future whichever way the vote goes.

Our year so far has otherwise proven to be very busy. Machine launches, auctions, the group’s milestone 85th anniversary and plenty of shows and events – it’s all been keeping us on our toes. You will have certainly noticed, by now, that we’ve launched our unique JCB Hydradig which has really captured the imagination of customers – JCB has even had to recruit to the production team at the factory in Staffordshire to keep up with orders. Great news. You can read more about this machine on pages 4 and 5.

“Our families have been terribly affected by

cancer with a mum, auntie and dad between

us having succumbed to the disease. This

challenge was started in memory of all those

that we have lost, but also to raise critical

funds to fight the disease. Weston Park

Hospital is one of only four dedicated cancer

hospitals in England and its reputation as

a centre of excellence in the fight against

cancer is recognised not only here in the UK,

but also internationally. The charity needs

£2 million per year to keep the hospital at

the forefront of cancer treatment. We’re

trying to do our bit by raising £20,000.”

The duo has already raised funds at a ‘Pink

Ball’ in June. Three tables were booked by

staff to support the event including Wendy

Asquith, Sam Harrison and Dan’s former

engineering colleagues in the Lincoln depot.

He’s also selling a special Mount Kili charity

pale ale, has driven taxis on New Year and

run a race night all in the aim to raise money

for a cause that touches us all.

Each of our depots ran their own ‘TCH cake-

off’ in celebration of our 85th year. These were

enjoyed by customers and employees alike.

The winning entry was designed by Jenny

Watts of Chapeltown, Sheffield Depot and

we’re sure you’ll agree they demonstrating

some fine baking and decorating skills.

The new JCB Hydradig is the first true wheeled excavator designed for purpose, from the

ground up. Developed in complete secrecy over the last 3 years, the result is a completely

AUCTION Two of the JCB Agricultural dealers in the TCH JCB North East territory have agreed to work hand in hand with us to sell more than just ag machines.

William Scruton Ltd has depots in Driffield and Riccall in the Yorkshire Wolds. After 100 years in business it’s fair to say they are a particularly well

known and well respected ag dealer and we’re very much looking forward to working with them. Hull-based Northfield Agriculture has become

a leading dealer in East Yorkshire; distributing and supporting leading brands of agricultural equipment including drills, spreaders, harvesters and

harvesters as well as JCB machines. Both businesses now have the opportunity to increase their product portfolio with the addition of the full range

of JCB midi and mini excavators which they will be sourcing from us.

It’s a win-win for all parties. Agricultural - and related businesses - often need smaller, construction machines for jobs on the farm, in yards, nurseries

Top UK customer salesman, Richard

Blackburn, has been working with Sheffield-

based Galebest since he joined the company

18 years ago. In fact it was his very first

customer - and a customer of TCH JCB for

even longer than that - 31 years and counting.

Directors, Glynn Bell and Alan Price, have

expanded the business from its original plant

hire roots - which is still the cornerstone of its

activiites today - into a successful contractors

and waste removal and aggregates business.

To mark their 31st birthday they sent their

longest serving employee, Chris Morton,

to collect their newest JCB acquisition,

a JCB 3CX, from our Sheffiled depot.

Chris has worked for Galebest for an

impressive 27 years.

booth’ in previous years we are giving visitors the chance to have their photos taken with the

be something for everyone to see.

Our annual participation in The Great Yorkshire Show continues this year. From 12th July – 14th July we’ll

be hoping for excellent weather to showcase a full range of

JCB machinery.

Located by the main ring in the machinery section we will be looking

forward to welcoming some of the 130,000 visitors that flock to

the show annually.
