If your son or daughter wishes to stop taking lessons during the academic year we need 6 weeks written notice so that changes to the contract can be agreed with the music service.

Newport City Council Hardship fund Students in Newport City Council schools who are experiencing difficulties with increased fees and who are in receipt of Free School Meals can enquire about the ‘Hardship Fund’ which is distributed through Gwent Music Support Service. You can find out more about the hardship fund via the website at www.gwentmusic.co.uk/bursaries/. Your son/ daughter can collect an application form from the music department and you will need to re-apply for the fund every term. There are a number of school instruments that we are able to loan to pupils, free of charge, so they can try instruments before buying and these will normally be loaned for a maximum of one year. The school can help with the purchase of instruments at excluding VAT prices through theAssisted Purchase Instrument Scheme (AIPS) which is an approved scheme by HMRC. If you would like you son/ daughter to receive lessons at school during theSummer term please complete the attached consent form and return with your payment (cheques payable to: St Julian’s School) agreeing to the terms and conditions to Mrs H.
