DUKE OF EDINBURGH'S AWARD JAMAICAAWARD REQUIREMENTS - SUMMARY
Levels BRONZE SILVER GOLD
Minimum Age 14 years.15 years. (Direct entrants 16)
16 years (Direct entrants 17 years and 6 months.)
Minimum Period 6 months 12 months (6 months if qualified Bronze).
18 months (12 months if qualified Silver).
Minimum 1 hour/week over 3 months. (Additional 3 months if service is chosen to last for the full period).
Minimum 1 hour/week over 6 months. (Additional 6 months for non Bronze if service is chosen to last full period).
Minimum 1 hours/week over 12 months. (Additional 6 months for non Silver holders, if service is chosen to last the full period).
SECTIONS->Preliminary training. 1 practice journey. Qualifying Journey - (2 days & 1 night out).
Preliminary training. 2 practice journey. Qualifying Journey - (3 days, 2 nights out).
Preliminary training. 3 practice journeys. Qualifying Journey - (4 days, 3 nights out).
Minimum 1 hour/week for 3 months. (Additional 3 months if skills chosen for the full period).
Minimum 1 hour/week for 6 months. (Additional 6 months for non Bronze holders if skills chosen to last full period).
Minimum 1 hour/week for 12 months. (Additional 6 months for non Silver Holders of skills chosen to last full period).
Minimum 1 hour/week for 3 months. (Additional 3 months if physical recreation chosen to last full period).
Minimum 1 hour/week for 6 months. (Additional 6 months for non Bronze holders if physical recreation chosen to last full period).
Minimum 1 hour/week for 12 months. (Additional 6 months for non Silver Holders if physical recreation chosen to last full period).
Gold participants have to complete a residential project lasting at least 5 days and 4 nights.

Levels BRONZE SILVER GOLDPRESENTATION Local Ceremony.
Presentations by the School Principal and/or leaders such as Member of Parliament, the Mayor, the Custos effective 2009.
National Ceremony in March at the Jamaica Pegasus. Presentation to be done by the Education Minister and/or the Minister of Youth.
National Ceremony on a date to be decided at Kings House. Presentation to be made by the Governor General, a member of the Royal Family or the Prime Minister.
