Instrument revision

• The main survey instruments will be further revised based on:– Feedback from Project Advisory

Committee– Feedback from NRCs at this meeting

• We welcome any further written feedback from countries but it needs to be sent within the next two weeks!

Cognitive test

• Generally, we will be able to keep most of the field trial items

• For a 45-minute test with seven booklets/clusters also some items with marginally satisfactory scaling properties will have to be deleted

Student questionnaire

• No fundamental format changes will be done and no new items should be added

• There was some interest in keeping some of the material proposed for deletion– Further revision will take country feedback into

account– Some further items for single-item reporting may

be retained

• The overall length of the questionnaire will have to be considered in the final revision

Teacher questionnaire

• Some further changes to be applied based on PAC and NRC feedback

• Attempt to make wording consistent between teacher and school questionnaire

• Teacher survey design– No change in target population definition

(teaching in target grade)– 15 teachers per school

• International option of oversampling CCE teachers

• Sample instruments (with final layout and assembly instructions) will be sent with manuals (Unit 2) on 28 July 2008
