This week’s theme is: “Making Decisions in a Group” Athletic Sports The school athlec sports are being held on the final day of term three, Friday, September 18th. This year the sports will be held at the Nathalia Recreaon Reserve and we will be able to use the equipment owned by the Nathalia Lile Athlecs. This has been made possible through Doug Cobbledick who has been working with the children in all grades to improve their skills in athlecs in preparaon for the sports. Doug is an accredited athlecs coach and we appreciate that he is able to spend me with the children and assisng us with the forthcoming athlec sports. Thanks Doug! NAPLAN Results The NAPLAN tests for children in grades 3 and 5 were completed early in term two and the results have been received by the school. We would like parents to arrange an interview with the classroom teacher and then come to the school to discuss the NAPLAN results. The teachers will have up to date assessment data that the children have completed since the NAPLAN tests and they can also discuss strategies to further improve and develop the educaonal outcomes for your children. It is important that the relaonship between teachers and parents is strong and that the partnership has agreed goals and strategies that will enable the children to reach their potenal. Please contact the school office to arrange to meet Ms Inglis and Mr Johnson in the next fortnight. Youth Engagement Mentoring Program The Youth Engagement Mentoring Program (YEMP) for children in grade six has been very successful and we are now looking at swapping the groups over to include other children. Sue Maloney from the Nathalia Community House has coordinated the program and she has worked with the children and other groups within our local community to make the program a success. Thanks, Chris McCallum—Principal Mathlecs Champions! Tully (leſt) and Zoe are pung the finishing touches on the trucks they made at the Nathalia Men’s Shed through the YEMP program.
