COMMISSIONERSOF HILL COUNTY, MON-TANA, ESTABLISHING
THE REGULARMEETING DATES OF
THE BOARD OF COUN-TY COMMISSIONERSAND THE HOURS OF COUNTY OFFICES OF
HILL COUNTY,MONTANA, PURSUANT TO MONTANA STATE
LAW
WHEREAS, Section 7-4-102, MCA, establishes that unless otherwise provided by law, each officer shall keep the officer’s office open for the transaction of business during the office hours determined by the governing body by resolu-tion after a public hearing and only if consented to by any affected elected county officer each day except Saturdays and legal holidays, and Section 7-4-2211 further stipulates and clarifies the above wording as set forth under Montana State Law, and
WHEREAS, as per 7-4-102, MCA, a public hearing was held in the Office of the Hill County Commission on Thursday, 21 January, 2016, and
WHEREAS, Section 7-5-2122, MCA, mandates that the governing body of the County shall establish by resolution, regular meeting dates and notify the public of the dates established, and
WHEREAS, Section 7-5-2125, MCA, states that “All meetings of the Board of County Commission-ers must be public” with the exception of those provided within Section 2-3-203, MCA, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Hill County Commission-ers desire that their office be open to the public at all times; and further, encourages the public to attend and take an interest in the business as brought before the Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED,
that for 2016 the office hours for all county offices, except the Superintendent of Schools office shall be established from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. each day, except for Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holi-days, for the transaction of business.
FURTHER, that the Hill County Commission shall meet in regular session each day except Satur-days, Sundays, and legal holidays; and further, that Thursday is the scheduled meeting day with posted agenda items being acted upon, (unless otherwise posted) and that the Cal-endar of the Commission is posted in the Office of the Hill County Commis-sion at the Hill County Courthouse, Havre, Montana and is available for public inspection at all times during the office hours as set forth in this Resolution.
FURTHER, that all meet-ings of the Hill County Commission as may occur from day to day, are open to the public and public comment is encouraged, except for those meetings provided within Section 2-3-203, MCA.
