Year 11 Alfie Lynch is a keen Kick Boxer who currently trains at ‘Billy Browns School of Kickboxing’ in Thetford. On Friday 3rd Nov 2017 at Epic Studios Norwich, Alfie debuted his first full contact fight and won! Not only did he win but he was also awarded ‘Fighter of the Night.’

On Sunday 12th November Alfie and his brother Richy both became Norfolk Open Series Championship champions. Alfie who is known in the kickboxing world as ‘Golden Boy’, competed in the under 58kg category and his brother Richy, known as ‘Chipmunk’ competed in the under 31kg which was contested over three competitions throughout the year.

Alfie’s next big fight is on Saturday March 31st 2018 at Epic Studios in Norwich. This will be a really tough fight and Alfie will need all the support he can get. Alfie’s long term goal is to one day fight for a title belt. The boys have worked so hard to get where they are considering they have only been doing the sport for twenty months.

On Friday 27 October Skye Kerins, Year 7, held a ‘Macmillan Coffee Morning’ at Lakenheath Bowls Club. In the lead up to the event Skye designed and displayed posters around Lakenheath village in order to raise awareness. Cakes were either bought or homemade and were donated by friends and family, along with tombola prizes. The idea, effort, resourcing cakes and raffle prizes was all down to Syke and she ran the event herself. This was the first time Skye had organised a charity event but due to the positive outcome and the generosity of the public she says she would like to do something similar in the future. In total she raised £245 for the great cause. Well done.
