Rectification, HWR, FWR - Center tapped & Bridge rectifier, C filters (qualitative

analysis), Zener diodes, Zener diode as Voltage Regulator.

BJT: Introduction, Transistor operation: NPN, C E Characteristics (Both input

and output) Single stage R C Coupled Amplifier (qualitative analysis).

OPAMP & Oscillators: Operational Amplifier Ideal Characteristics, Op-Amp

Applications: Inverting, Non Inverting Amplifiers Adder, problems.

Oscillators: Barkhausen Criteria, Hartley, Colpitts and Crystal Oscillators.

Note: Only Circuit description (No Mathematical Analysis), substitution problems

only.

Communication Systems: Modulation, AM, FM Modulation, Power in AM

wave, Satellite Communication principle (Block diagram), Cellular Telephone

Networks (Block diagram), RADAR: Introduction, Radar Range Equation (No

derivation), Basic Pulsed Radar set, Applications of Radar. substitution problems

only.

Note: Block Diagram Approach (No Mathematical Analysis).

and offsets from chords produced.

7 To set out simple curves using Rankine's deflection angles method.

8 To set out compound curve by angular methods with using theodolite only.
