4. COMFORT LINERThe inner padding consists of high-quality polyurethane foams of variousThe levels of hardness, with superior cover materials to ensure a perfect hold and seating on the face.Chin Strap

5. CHINSTRAPThe task of the chinstrap is to hold the helmet firmly on the head. This is done by using a chinstrap with proper tensile strength and extensibility. The chinstrap is firmly at-tached to the helmet shell with metal rivets.VentilationVentilation

6. VENTILATION

The SHOEI ventilation system directs cooling, drying air into the helmet, and uses areas of low air pressure to the rear of the helmet to draw warm, damp air through the outlets and into the outside environment. Ventilation is one of the most sought after helmet functions during the research and development stages of all new models. The perfect placing and shaping of the inlets and outlets, along with air channels buried within the EPS liner, are the basis for optimum ventilation, and is part of what separates SHOEI from our competition.Active Safety >

Thank for picking up another issue of Sunt’N Magazine. Some of you may not know this but we have recently changed venues and moved alil further up north. Doing this in the middle of winter was probably a bad idea but hey, with a little hard work and the support of a new bike community we plan to be just as successful as our southern publication.

In this issue we are sticking to the same concept as we did in the south. We have made a few new friends on the East Coast and we plan to make many more. We’ve been to a few bike nights in and around town and plan to attend as many as pos-sible this year. The PRO convention just passed and we’re sorry we couldn’t make it. But we do plan to be there next year in full bloom. In the beginning we use to take in a lot of photos via email from our readers to publish. Whether it was a custom bike or a shout out from another club across the way. Well, we’d like to get back to that concept. So next issue we will be looking to hear more from our readers and custom bike owners. We know we can’t make it to every bike event that we’d like to; so send us what you got so we can publish it in an upcoming issue. We like to think of ourselves as a magazine for the true bikers and not just some $5 magazine full of ad.

Thanks again for picking up this issue of Stunt’N Magazine and I Hope you enjoy it. Don’t forget to hit up our website www.Stuntnmag.com and while you’re there sign our guest book and tell us how we’re doing.

COMING

SPRING 2011

Meet “ The Big Shots Motorcycle Club, 32 member deep with a very family like connection. It would seem they are a one of the more popular clubs in New-ark, Nj. I first met Airborne the VP of the Newark chapter a few miles out of town. I was out with a friend when I saw a white SUV in the parking lot of a plaza with the Big Shots Logo on the side. Always anxious to make new acquaintances I inquired around the room as to whom the SUV outside belong too. You can usu-ally spot a real biker even without his colors on by his mannerism. Kind of one of those “it takes one to know one” scenarios. I intro-duced myself and we began to chat it up like 2 old friends.

It’s almost an instant kinship when most bikers who have never met before come together. Discussing everything from the kind of bike each one rides to the parties that go on around town. Followed by a little his-tory from each one about their own club and themselves. If you have ever gone to bike party where you didn’t know anyone chances are they will get to know you. Thats the way is with most bikers. It’s these colors that make us brothers.

You can usually spot a real biker even with-out his colors on by his mannerism.

In this Photo: (from left to right)Airborn,Skipp (Editor of Stunt’N) and RAH.

After about a 20 min conversation we exchanged contacts and plan to catch up again at one of their bike nights held every Thursday at the Big Shots club house located at 932 Bergen Street in Newark, Nj. When I showed up Thursday night it was nothing but love. I sat and talked with their president who gave me a little more club history and had a chance to meet with the rest of their members. They have 8 other chapters totaling approximately 200 members. Their club house is a typ-ical bikers club house on the inside. What I found to be unique was the way their trophies were suspended from the ceiling. To the right was a wall with a banner that had every chapter on it. But these weren’t just your ordinary bikers or bike club.

Off in the corner were several tall trophies for martial arts and around the inside of the building were signs of martial art teach-ings. To me that meant these guys were also disciplined as well as didn’t take no mess either. But nonetheless they were friendly bunch and were very welcoming.

They have 8 other chapters totaling approximately 200 members.

Next door was a custom paint shop owned by one of the Big Shots. I took a walk over with him to look around a bit and I can tell he loves his work. Displayed all around the shop was bike parts such as fair-ings, seats, helmets, and tanks all with custom paint jobs done by the man himself. Good quality work all with unique designs. Full face helmets airbrushed to a give off whole new look. We talked about some his work and found he knew of the infamous chain wrapped custom painted zx-14 by Clipps from Stunt’N Customs.

I headed back over to the other side to have a cheeseburger and finish watching Brue Lee’s Game of Death on the TV over the bar. I had a good time hanging with the Big Shots of Newark, and if your ever in the area... stop by the Big Shots Club house one Thursday night and have a beer or two and make a few new friends. Tell em Skipp sent ya. -By Skipp Edmonds

Club ShoutOuts!

GEICOMOTORCYCLES

1-800-44-CYCLE

There’s so much more in a name than most clubs know. State to state we find that there are various MC clubs with some pretty indifferent names. Not to put anyone on the spot, because we don’t want to offend anyone, but this is a topic that we think needs to be spoken on. How a person is addressed can determine how they are perceived; especially by others. We are a magazine that is deeply rooted into the bike com-munity than most actually know. So our speaking on this matter was probably to be expected. Let’s start with the breakdown of MC which means Motor Cycle. As we have written in the past; motor-cycles usually tend to represent a entirely different individual at times or even group of persons usually characterized as bikers. Unfortunately history associates the word bikers with gangs, thugs on two wheels as we have touched on in previous issues.

The next association is the name of the MC club and the patch that they use to represent themselves. all of this goes hand in hand. It’s what defines us as bikers. Some names bring instant respect if you think of some of the outlaw clubs that exist in your community of set. Other names tend to de-scribe the club in a whole and if the name doesn’t then the patch will say the rest.

As the Biker lifestyle starts to grow and become more popular city to city we are starting to see more of some of the most outrageous names and patches to go with it. This is not to say any of these bik-ers are less of a rider than the next biker, but whose gonna take you serious. Most of you….and you know who you are; sound like names of rap groups or entertain-ers even. Association in a name goes a long way. Our own editor of Stunt’ N belongs to a club that goes by the name “The James Gang” and if you know anything about American history and not

THE“WHAT”

MC?

the musical group then you know the association of their name and how it could coincide with a bike club. They wear a skull for a patch, and their colors are black and white. We use this as an example to give you a better understand-ing of where we are coming from. First 2 Finish MC out of Atlanta, Ga rocks a checkered flag with 2 bikes coming out from both sides. The Redliners of Newark , NJ have an odometer and a bike as a patch logo. Even if you take the 3 clubs names mentioned and just look at the name you will find some sort of association with motorcycles. This article wasn’t written to of-fend anyone or any particular club. It was written for those future am-bitious riders who one day plan to start their own club. Take pride in the name you choose to repre-sent your MC club, and if the name doesn’t speak for itself let the patch you throw on your vest say the rest. We are getting away from a culture that is our own as bikers and Bike Clubs. We are scrutinized enough by society as menaces to the road, and as we become more involved with our local communities let the name in which they refer to you and your club be one they say with respect. Or fear, pending what kind of Club you are.

More and more these days we are starting to see a lot of social club i.e.: SC, CC or and more recently SUV clubs making their way on to the bike scene. Most are out numbering the amount of MC Clubs you see. There have been a large number of car clubs showing up on the scene as well. Everything from old school Ca-dillac’s to SUV’s. Most you will find are competition late model customs. There was a time in New Jersey when Big Rick and the Cadillac club of east Orange was the most popular club out on the scene next to the Newark Knights MC. Mother’s day weekend on Springfield avenue in Newark. You can see a little bit of each club from block to block.

Recently I reached out to an old friend of mines the lovely Lady Ju from Sexy Divas SC of Newark, NJ to find out why it is they have taken on the “Biker” look. After a 30 minute phone conversation and a little histo-ry about their club I came to the con-clusion that it is just a case of friendly admiration in the bikers look. She clearly stated that she is not speaking for all Social Clubs on the scene, but as far as her club concerned it was a way to represent their club in the same fashion as a regular MC club might. As we talked I gave her a little history lesson as to why bikers wear leather vest. Something that even to this day most bikes don’t know, and how the patch system works; also another concept unknown by most bikers. Considering the amount of clubs I’ve seen in my travels wearing the wrong patch system on their vest, you could tell some of them needed a history lesson themselves.

But who are these new Biker looking clubs showing up on the scene rock-ing leather vest with unique insignia replacing the infamous MC patch with SC, CC or SUV indentifying patches. At a glance they resemble your av-erage biker. For some its becom-ing a bad case of mistaken identity. While others take it as a compliment. But what is the real reason behind these social clubs attire? Why have they become so tight with the bike communities despite what appears to be a copy cat act?

THE SOCIALEXPERIANCE

Written by E.T. Brooks

“For some its becoming a bad case of mistaken identity. While others take it as a compliment.”

EDITOR’S CHOICEMonthly Column

She mentioned that their club does a lot of the same events as bikers do. Everything from charitable events to good old fashion parties, and how a large number of their guest are usu-ally bikers from various clubs. Then I asked if she’d ever caught any slack from a bike club because of the way they represent themselves and she said ,“of course, there has been a club or 2 here and there that frown on that fact, but we mean it as no disre-spect”.

“There have been plenty of parties where I’ve seen enough SC’s on the scene to win a most rep’d trophy” The biker look has become more of a fashion statement; not just with social club or even some of the SUV or Car Clubs, but in everyday life. People these days are wearing every thing most bikers do short of walking around with a helmet on their heads.

There have been plenty of parties where I’ve seen enough SC’s on the scene to win a most rep’d trophy. They have become what most would consider an extension of the MC lifestyle. When others would simply say, “they just wanna be like us, but are scared to get a bike so they dress like us”. Indeed it’s something a lot of bikers in other states take personal, but what can we do but simply take it as a compliment. Lady Ju mentioned in our conversation that they have the upmost regard for their colors just like bikers do. We all know how up-tight a biker can get about his colors.

Tell us how you feel about this. Email us at Stunt’[email protected] or visit our website at www.Stunt-nmagaizne.webs.com and give us your comments on the matter. Do you think that these SC, CC, SUVshould have their own style? and why? Or do you as a biker not care and take it as a compliment as some have stated. Even if you’re a member of a social club tell us why your club wears the “Leathers”. I’m not going to offer my opinion yet. I’ll wait to see what you the readers have to say and we’ll publish it in out next issue. Until then ride safe and rep your club whatever it may be SC, CC, SUV or the originator MC.
