The number of Indian tertiary students going overseas for study rose by almost 350 percent between 2000 and 2011 – from 58,091 to 203,338 students. International student numbers are expected to remain high as Indian students continue to demand quality education; India’s industry continues to seek skilled graduates who are work-ready; and the Indian government remains firmly focused on skills development.

» PTEs attract two thirds of the Indian students studying in New Zealand with overall sector distribution remaining largely unchanged since 2011.

» India is not a school sector market for New Zealand or for any of our competitors - 70 percent of Indian students studying abroad are enrolled in postgraduate programmes alone.© Dronaa International Educon
