Comment: Vasil Levski, born Vasil Ivanov Kunchev (1837 - 1873), was a Bulgarian revolutionary who ideologized and strategized the Bulgarian revolutionary movement against the Ottoman Empire. He was a founder of the Bulgarian Intern Revolutionary Organization. Levski is a national hero of Bulgaria and considered the Apostle of Freedom.
