Transcript of students will need to carefully check the timetables for ... › wp-content › ... · weeks,...
Dear students, Parents and carers, Please refer to the attached timetables, Week A and Week B, to understand when the learning tasks collated in this ‘Activity Book’ have been scheduled for students to complete. As this ‘Activity Book’ encompasses learning tasks for the duration of two weeks, students will need to carefully check the timetables for the specified page numbers, to ensure they are completing the correct learning tasks at the correct time. If possible, it is requested that students are granted access to a device (e.g. computer desktop, laptop or iPad) with internet access, in order to engage in designated communication times with their teacher and peers. These daily designated times are specifically outlined in the timetables. Access to a device with internet is also requested, in order for students to continue using online educational resources, such as Maths Online, Read Theory and Pobble 365. All other learning tasks can be completed either hard copy or digitally. For example, work can be completed on a device (e.g. word document or online Google document), in your child’s homework book, in a plain exercise book, or loose paper. Kind regards Stage 3 teachers

Write your own sentence using each of those words. If there are no unknown words in your novel, do the tasks above using 5 interesting words.
Summarising Select and read an article or information report from the Kids News. 1. In your literacy book, summarise what the article/report is about. Remember - when you summarise a text, you need to work out what the most important bits of information are and to write it in your own words. Aim to write 5-10 sentences.

Questioning 1. Select one character from the play. Write 3 questions you could ask that character, to learn more about them, based on their dialogue and their actions in the play. 2. Imagine you are a character in the play. Write 3 questions that you would ask another character. 3. Write 3 questions you would like to ask the author of the play.
Predicting 1. Make a prediction as to what might happen in the next part of the comic. Think about the characters you have been introduced to and what has happened during that ‘episode’. Write this prediction in your literacy book. 2. Illustrate the prediction you have made, by drawing the next part of the comic-strip.
Making Connections 1. In your own words, explain what the problem or complication of the story is. 2. Think about another text (e.g. novels, picture books, films, comics) that you have read/watched with a similar theme or complication.
