From the PrincipalWelcome back to another exciting year! Yesterday was a day that we have been looking forward to for weeks, we finally had our amazing students back it was great to see the smiling faces of the students, and I think there were some happy parents there as well with the drop off. As the new year begins there comes some change. This year we are trialling new bell times for the day to day timetable (see times below). This will not affect parents for drop offs and pick times as the school day still starts at 9:00 am and school finishes at 3:00 pm. The change is research based and designed to utilise teaching and learning time in the mornings and to reduce behaviour incidents in the afternoon. We will continue to review this and keep you informed. I would like to welcome all our staff for 2019! we are delighted to introduce new staff who join our Conifer Grove whanau. Mr Aman Virk ( Room 19) Haemata Team leader, Miss Annalise Maggs (Room 16), Miss Hayley Bilk ( Room 3 ), Miss Emma Morgan (Room 5). It is fantastic to have Mr Ivor Franke back from long term sick leave. We also welcome back Mrs Amarjit Kaur (Room 11), Miss Jo Petrie (Room 8) who will be assisting Mr Franke. We are fortunate to have a full staff in this current education climate. This year we begin our journey as a school to develop a Conifer Grove School curriculum, one that is relevant to our students and community, staff have been involved in professional development during and Teacher Only Days with the key theme of Teaching for Understanding and what students need to understand their world around them. This will continue as the year progresses to develop our local curriculum.
