Empowermentleadersareexpectedtobepositiverolemodelswhohavehighexpectationsonmakingadifferenceintheir community. Empowerment Teams will realize they can do anything and all ideas will be valued.

Empowerment leaders will look forward to recruiting their peers to become Empowerment TeamLeadersandattendcommunitycenterevents. EMPOWERMENT TEAM MODELEMPOWERMENT TEAM The Empowerment Roomwill be the creative space and command center of the EmpowermentTeam. The Empowerment Team will consist of 4 specialized groups (Teams) and will focus on drug prevention,bullyprevention,training,design,development,andmarketing.

JeffGurchinoffservesastheprogramadministratorfortheEmpowermentRoom,andwillbeworkingdirectly with the Dream and Design Teams. BarbReisner serves as the program administrator for the AmbassadorTeamandImpactTeamfocusingonbringingservicesintotheschoolsandcommunity.

TheinputfromtheteamswillpositivelyaffecteveryprogramofferedattheOurPlaceCommunityCenter. Through Empowerment Team input, program adjustments and implementation planningwillbeensuredwithutmostefficiency,offeringthecommunitywhatitneeds,ratherthanwhatweassume the community wants.

Oncecompleted, theEmpowermentroomwillhavebrandnewequipment for theteamstouse -computer,projector,smartboard,projectionscreen,videobackdrops,etc.willbemadeavailable.

The Empowerment Team will consist of 4 specialized TEAMS:AmbassadorTeam,DesignTeam,DreamTeamandImpactTeam.Teamswillbestaffedwithasmanystudentleaders/volunteersasrequired.Ideally, team leadershipwill consist of 4 appointed student facilitators. To empower each teamandpromoteattitudeandbehavior change in the community, each teamwill begiven theirownoperationalfunds.

AMBASSADOR TEAM - MARKETINGThe primary responsibility of the Ambassador Team will be to energize the community and the local schoolsthroughmarketingcampaignsandeventsspecificallydesignedtopromotetheeffortsofthecommunitycenterandchildren’smuseum. Teammemberswill spread thewordandcontinue togrowbysolicitingyoungambassadorstoassist inpromotioneffortsthroughcommunityoutreach.Additionally,therewillbeopportunitiesfortheteamtocontributetoothercommunityareas.

DESIGN TEAM - CREATE THE SPACETheprimarymissionoftheDesignTeamwillbetoincorporateInformationTechnologytoenhancelearningexperiences.TheDesignTeamwilltransformtheEmpowermentRoomintoafunandexitingplacecreativitycanhappen.TheEmpowermentRoomwillbeusedtoshowcreativeworks,designfuture exhibits and to enhance all other aspects of the community center.

DREAM TEAM - VETTING PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIESTheprimarymissionoftheDreamTeamwillbetoreviewtheexhibits,projectsandallcommunitycenterprograms. TheDreamTeamwill transformtheGatheringRoomof theCommunityCenterinto a relaxing space where people can connect and feel a sense of belonging. Dream - Develop,Review,Expand,Apply and Market)Teamwillworkcloselywithexhibitcreation,andotherprojectstoprovidefeedbackandsuggestionsthatwillmakeeverythingofferedthebestserviceandcreation.

IMPACT TEAM - DRUG PREVENTION AND BULLY PREVENTION PRESENTERSThe Impact Teamwill be trained and prepared to present Drug Prevention and Bully Preventionclassroomlessonstostudentsingrades1-3.Lessonswillbeinteractive,student-ledandsometimeswillfeaturespecialguestspeakers.Thisimpactfulcurriculumwillbethefirstlineofdefenseinthepreventionofnegativeinfluencesinthelivesofchildrenandyouth.ImpactTeampresenterswillalsoserveascommunityambassadorsdeliveringpowerfulmessagestointergenerationalaudiences.
