Delivery and courier charges

You are responsible for all costs of delivering information to the Australian Consulate-General (ACG) by mail or courier, including any additional information that may be requested by the ACG. If you give additional information to the Australian Visa Application Centre, you may be charged a courier fee for delivery to the ACG.

A completed and signed Form 157G – Application for a student (temporary) visa. If you are not the student’s parent or legal custodian, have the parent or legal guardian complete Form 157N Nomination of a student guardian http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/application-forms/forms_num1.htm The parent/custodian can nominate a relative (must be at least 21 years old) with whom the student will reside in Australia.

Payment of the Australian Government Visa Application Charge. Advice on how to pay this charge can be found at www.vfs-au-gcc.com/ OR if the Visa Application Charge has been paid at an office of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship in Australia, a copy of the receipt must be submitted.

Evidence of relationship between the student visa holder and the applicant (e.g. birth certificate, family registration)

If nominating student is 18 or older a signed statement or any government issued document indicating exceptional reasons why the nominating student requires the Student Guardian visa applicant to reside with him/her.

If the nominated guardian is other than parent or sibling police certificates from each country in which the applicant has lived in for more than 12 months or more (cumulatively and continuously) in the last 10 years since turning 16 years of age. If the nominated guardian is other than parent or sibling a completed and signed Form 80 - Personal particulars for character assessment by applicant and all migrating dependents 16 years or older.

Evidence of adequate arrangements for health insurance during period of intended stay in Australia (until student visa holder reaches 18 years of age OR until the validity of the student visa for exceptional cases). Private health insurers offering OSHC in Australia are subject to regulatory requirements set by the Private Health Insurance Administration Council. This is because the Australian Government wants to be able to monitor and regulate insurers covering people studying temporarily in Australia. The government is not able to protect the interests of people insured by overseas insurance companies in the same way.
