“Most people see what is, and never see what can be.”
-Albert Einstein

What is Creativity? The accepted definition of creativity is
production of something original and useful, and that’s what’s reflected in the tests. There is never one right answer.
To be creative requires divergent thinking (generating many unique ideas) and then convergent thinking (combining those ideas into the best result).

More importantly… How do you foster creativity in
our classrooms?
Talk with your neighbor for 1 minute.…

“Creative teaching requires moving from a focus on imparting knowledge to knowledge acquisition, providing opportunities for the learner to engage in deep thought and productive action.”-Susan Keller-Mathers, Encyclopedia of Giftedness, Creativity, and Talent

How to Spark Passion?
![Page 13: Student Creativity](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022081520/56816741550346895ddbf5ca/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
What are you passionate about?
![Page 14: Student Creativity](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022081520/56816741550346895ddbf5ca/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
How do you find out your student’s
passions?
![Page 15: Student Creativity](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022081520/56816741550346895ddbf5ca/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
Real learning that sticks is about allowing students to pursue their interests in the context of the curriculum
![Page 16: Student Creativity](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022081520/56816741550346895ddbf5ca/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
Now think about you and professional development?
Which is the more profound PD – the mandated information or that which speaks to your individual needs- personal, linguistic, technological…
![Page 17: Student Creativity](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022081520/56816741550346895ddbf5ca/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
What if we focused on developing kids who are “learners” instead of trying to make sure they’re “learned”?
What if, instead of delivering the same, common education to every student, we focused on developing the skills and dispositions necessary for them to learn whatever they need to learn whenever they need to learn it? .

That means rethinking classrooms to focus on individual passions, inquiry, creation, sharing , patient problem solving, and innovation
