STUDENT CHOIR MUSICAL/DRAMA Our Student Choir ministry will combine with that of Rocky Knoll

Baptist Church and present the musical/drama PRODIGAL this Sunday

evening, May 27, at 6:30 PM at Rocky Knoll. The combined student

choir will be accompanied by a live band. The musical tells a modern

day version of the Prodigal Son story from the gospels. Please be

praying for both student choirs and support them with your presence

at this special worship presentation.

MUSIC MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

CROSSWALK LEADER NEEDED A request has been made to our CrossWalk Director, Ottis Haney that the “Dave Ramsey’s Financial

Peace” series be taught in our church. We need a leader that would be willing to facilitate and lead

in this DVD–led series and discussion. Ottis feels this would be very beneficial to our church

family. If you are interested in this or have any questions regarding this series, please feel free to

Nursery Summer Activities

For Ages Nursery – Starting Kindergarten

Since there will be no Children’s Activities on Wednesday evenings during the summer, we will be meeting weekly at different homes. Please bring a supper (picnic or Arby’, etc) for your family.

This will be a time for the children to play. Activities begin at 6:00 p.m. each week.

From Ken…

Rev. Tim Shaw called as Minister to Students…. With a unanimous vote Rev. Tim Shaw was extended the call from our church to become our new Minister to Students. We will welcome Tim, his wife Christy and their two sons, Seth and Luke to our church family in just a few weeks.

We are very excited about Tim coming to join our ministerial staff and believe that the Lord has led us in His timing to just the right person. Keep the Shaw family in your prayers as they begin the transition from his current ministry to CSBC. Many thanks to the Search Team! Mike Thrift led the team that consisted of Roy Dodd, Tracy Haney, Tyler Jordan, Ed Leap, Jan Leap, Alicia Keys, Nickie King, Sam Leap, Tim Merrell, Cassidy Syck, Debbie Syck and Leigh Ann Thomas. Job well done!

Graduate Recognition Service…. This Sunday morning we will recognize 10 high school graduates along with several college and post graduates during our service of worship. Congratulations to all our graduates and best wishes and prayers for your futures.

Swamp Rabbit Trail Bike Ride…. On Sunday, June 3rd we will conduct our first ever Swamp Rabbit Trail bike ride in Greenville, beginning at the underpass of Main Street near Reedy Falls. We will meet together at 2:00 p.m., receive some instructions about routes you can take and begin our ride. This is a “fun run” so the distance you go and the stops you make are up to you. Some of us will travel north to Traveler’s Rest and back. Others will ride around the zoo area and remain in the local area of downtown Greenville or go south towards First Baptist Church. If you need to rent a bike, we can give you directions for that also. See the sign up sheet in the educational hallway just off the sanctuary.

Vacation Bible School…. Don’t forget that our VBS is just around the corner! June 10-14 will be five days full of excitement and lots of surprises for the kids. Thanks for all everyone has done to prepare. Bring your children and invite everyone you know for this great event.

CONTINUED NEED FOR VOLUNTEER FOOD BANK TRUCK DRIVERS Thanks to each of you who volunteered both your time, energy and trucks/trailers for pickup of

our food supplies for the Food Bank. As we have mentioned in previous newsletters, we are purchasing

food items from stores who offer the best possible prices for the items we need. We have several men

who volunteer already for this service. Due to gas prices and time schedules, we are attempting to

share this duty with others who may be willing to serve in this capacity. Please call Gail Medlin at

882-0415 or the church office at 638-2986 if you would be willing to help with this project. Again we

appreciate each of you who have already volunteered for this service. May God’s richest blessings be

yours!

WE THANK EACH ONE of these amazing volunteers who have committed 5 evenings and many hours of preparation to teach children about Jesus at VBS!

Please pray for us and the children that will attend Vacation Bible School. May God be glorified as we share His love and the truth of His Word.
