Dr.  Tracey  Severns  ,  Chief  Academic  Officer  of  the  New  Jersey  Department  of  Education,  is  a  nationally  recognized  and  award-­‐winning  educator  with  over  20  years  of  experience  as  a  special  education  teacher,  vice  principal,  principal,  and  superintendent.    She  has  been  awarded  three  Fellowship  Grants  from  the  Dodge  Foundation,  the  Outstanding  Service  and  Leadership  Award  by  the  NJ  Coalition  of  Educational  Leaders,  and  was  selected  as  one  of  eight  principals  to  participate  in  the  US-­‐Brazil  School  Principals  Exchange  Program,  2009.
