What Do You Want To Do?I need to meet with some classmates to prepare for a project or exam. Visit any desk in the Tech-nology Center to reserve a study room and check out a laptop if you need one. The study rooms feature soundproofing, SMART Boards, Idea Paint, chalk-boards, and projectors – all designed to help you collaborate and capture information. Glass walls and windows provide enhanced lighting and visibility – you’re not hidden away somewhere! Utilize our tutoring resources if you need additional help. And bring snacks to share – you can eat and drink in the library.

I’m a faculty member or graduate student look-ing for an area tailored to my needs. Head down one level to the Scholars’ Commons. There you’ll find staff and resources dedicated to you. The Read-ing Room provides a designated “Quiet Zone” for faculty and graduate research. We also offer group study rooms and a graduate computer lab. For more information call 850-644-6061.

I want to study by myself but I might need some help, too. Head downstairs to the Scholars’ Com-mons or upstairs to the Annex, floors three through five, for designated “Quiet Zones.” Or, stay in the Learning Commons – the chairs are on wheels, so you can move them where you want to be. If you need help, tutoring assistance is located right here. FSU’s Student Government generously funds Stro-zier’s in-house peer tutoring program, the Learning District, which helps students with science, math and business courses during late-night hours. The Academic Center for Excellence offers appointment-based tutoring during the day.

Students can also get help from the Reading/Writing Center, Advising First, Language Help Desk, Statistics Help Desk and several other partners. For detailed information, please visit http://guides.lib.fsu.edu/tutoring. Univer-sity Libraries is committed to student success!

I want to relax and wait for some friends to meet me. Kick back with a drink or snack from Starbucks or one of the vending machines. Peruse our collection of newspapers and magazines, located around the café. Browse our popular books and DVDs, courtesy of the Student Government Association. Plug in your headphones or get some from our Technology Center. We also have lounge chairs in the entrance lobby.

I have a question about a library fine. Library Fines Management is on the second floor. When facing the Norwood Reading Room, go to the left. Call 850-645-8822 Mon. - Fri. from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with questions. Library charges can be paid at the Office of Student Financial Services http://con-troller.vpfa.fsu.edu/Student-Financial-Services or at the FSUCard Center http://www.fsucard.fsu.edu. FSU faculty, students, and staff may pay library charges online at: http://fees.fsu.edu. Fines cannot be paid in the library itself.

I need to put a multimedia project together and I’m not sure where to start. Visit our Technology Center and ask for help at a service desk. Get assistance with Microsoft Office applications. Find copyright-free graphics, scan and upload them. Check out a video camera or digital camera, then upload and edit your images. Record and edit audio in our studio. Put all the pieces together and burn a DVD of your project.

I need to use a computer but the ones I see are all taken. In the Learning Commons, head to the Instruction Lab; if there’s no library class in session, feel free to use those computers. You can also check out a laptop in the Technology Center, or head up to another floor of the library – we have computer workstations located throughout Strozier.

I need assistive devices when using a computer. Our Assistive Technology Lab offers card-swipe access to computers, software, and adaptive equipment such as keyboards, mice, and adjustable tables. We are committed to providing solutions for patrons with disabilities to ensure access to information services.

I need to check out a book and/or get reference assistance. We offer assistance and book checkout at various service points near the red oval-shaped wall in the front area of the Learning Commons. Or, visit our self-check-out kiosk located against the front wall, just to the left if you’re facing the entrance/exit turnstiles.

I want to report something lost or turn in something I found. The Security Desk at the library entrance can help with all lost and found inquiries.

Always feel free to ask any library staff member for help!
