STRAUCH It is with great sadness and sorrow that the family announces the sudden passing of our beloved Dad, grandfather and great-Grandfather, David Strauch on Saturday, November 19th, 2016 at the age of 87 years. Dave was born on November 14th, 1929 at the family homestead near Shamrock, SK. He travelled to many places in Canada in his younger years, doing various jobs before he returned to Shamrock to farm, which he did for 51 years. Dave met Sylvia in 1953. ey married in 1955 and raised 4 daughters. Dave was a member of the Lions Club in Shamrock for 38 years. He was also on the boards at the Co-op and Community Hall for 12 years. Dave and Sylvia moved into Moose Jaw in 1983 but continued to farm until 1999, when they finally retired. ey joined a bowling league and Dave was a Warrior season ticket holder for 30 years. He was still very active, going for coffee with his friends and golfing 3 to 4 times a week this summer. He rarely missed Saturday morning breakfast at Smitty’s with his friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Sylvia in 2012; brothers: Jake, Albert, Alex and Adolph; sister, Mary; grandson, Cory; and son- in-law, Vic. Dave leaves to mourn: daughters: Wanda Upshall, Kate (Al) Wellbrock, Connie (Ron) Forbes, and Gail (Roger) Nobert; grandchildren: Shauna, Melanie, Erin (Will); Josh (Erin), Bryce (Amanda), Brock; Megan, Tyler (Natasha), Garett, and Hunter; great-grandchildren: Alexis, Hannah, Davis, and Lyncoln; sister, Clara; sister-in-law, Anne; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. e Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 25th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Flowers are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Dave’s name may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre c/o Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Ave, Regina, SK S4T 7T1.
