innovation by putting curiosity, critical
thinking, deep understanding, the rules
and tools of inquiry, and creative

curriculum.

Wisely managed classroom technology
Tech. devices in the high school classroom require teachers toadd a component to their classroom management.
1. Explain that the use of tech tools in class is a privilege noteveryone has and if abused, it can be discontinued.
2. During class, teachers should move around the classroomor use monitoring software to ensure students are using
their devices appropriately. When they understand thattheir teacher will intervene if they go off-task, studentsknow they must focus on their assignment.
3. Put students in charge of the upkeep of devices. Classescan learn tech terms, basic maintenance tasks, andappoint a few students to serve as tech monitors
responsible for distributing and storing equipment. Doingthis creates a sense of value and ownership for thewelfare of classroom technology.

Active learning
Aim: to get students thinking, talking and sharinginformation in the classroom.
1. the instructor leads a short overview of the days topicand gives students a challenge to meet by the end ofthe class, such as answering a question or solving aproblem.
2. Students break into small groups to do research online, chart out ideas and discuss ways to meet the challenge.
3. Groups upload their work to a Blackboard site/Facebookgroup, where the teacher can review it.
4. At the end of class, each group shares what theyve
learned with their peers.

Teachers have recognized the value of
using mind maps to engage students,
encourage creativity, and teaching how

NURTURING ADAPTABLE THINKERSi-THINK equips Malaysia's next generation of innovators to think critically and be adaptable
in preparation for the future. The project helps schools impart thinking skills to students,
allowing them to be lifelong learners; great at solving problems and coming up with
