To discuss and share the current trends and approaches in human capital
development in tourism industry
To introduce, discuss and study the respective concepts in community-based
tourism (CBT) from the perspective of sustainable tourism development
To analyse the impact of tourism workforce development and CBT
programmes on the economy, environment and community of the country
To formulate the policies and regulations in the development of human
capital in CBT programme and also implement the programme
To coordinate and facilitate cooperation between the government,
community and private sector to enhance skills and capabilities of workforce
in the tourism industry of OIC member countries.

• Enhanced understanding of building community capacity for tourism
• Enhanced recognıtıon and understandıng of tourısm as ınstrument for developing the
economy, environment, socio-cultural and skills
• Raısed standard of lıvıng and reduced poverty ın local communıtıes
• Promoted cultural and envıronmental preservatıon
• Promoted respect for the socıal cultural authentıcıty of host-communıtıes and enhanced to
ınter-cultural understandıng and tolerance
• Formulation of strategies and techniques to effectively develop and enhance human capital
through cooperation and partnership between government, community and private sector.

Tourism Workforce, wıth a focus on Community-Based Tourism (CBT) to empower the local

PROJECT OUTCOMES
Participants shall be able to formulate strategies and techniques to
effectively develop and enhance human capital in their respective country,
through cooperation and partnership between government, community, and
private sector to improve the welfare of the community.
Participants shall be able to understand not only the concept of CBT project
but also to identify the potential and impact of CBT towards the economy,
environment, socio-cultural and building of skills.
Participants are expected to be able to effectively recognise psychological
determinants of demand for skilled workforce in tourism, develop plans, and
execute appropriate strategies.
