Project Management Processes
A process is "a series of actions bringing about a result".
The purpose of project management processes is to identify, establish, coordinate, and monitor the activities and resources necessary for a project to produce the product or service that best satisfies the project objectives.

Process Outcomes
the scope of the work will be defined; the tasks and resources required will be
sized and estimated; the feasibility of achieving the objectives
of the project with the available resources and constraints will be evaluated;
interfaces between the elements of the project, and with other projects, will be identified and monitored;

Plans for execution will be developed and implemented;
progress will be monitored and reported;

PMI BOK Figures 3-4 through 3-8 show the processes within each of the process groups. there are a few differences between 1996
ed. and 2000 ed. (primarily for Risk Mgmt)In this course, our focus will primarily
be in the Planning Group (Fig. 3-5) and the Controlling Group (Fig 3-7). Let’s take a look at these two figures.
