Strategic Planning: July 2011 Meeting• Sense of the Board in July that the “ten-year look”
discussions needed to be developed further.• Facilitator provided written report, summarizing the
July discussion. • Executive Committee was to use knowledge
management tool to focus the discussion further. Chose concept mapping as approach.
• Two ‘concept mapping’ sessions were held in October, using expert facilitator (Brian Moon).
• Each group started from same baseline information: the Strategic Plan, and the July session report.
Concept Mapping• A concept map is a diagram showing the
relationships among concepts. They are graphical tools for organizing and representing knowledge.
