Executive Summary

Baderman Island is a resort with comprises a wide range of entertainment and resort destinations, which is enclosed by the Kelsey river shores. In order to attract the large number of customers and develop connectivity among the hotels and other entertainment features by using innovative technologies, Baderman Island has implemented innovative technologies to achieve the competitive advantage and improve the profitability and performance of the Island (Baderman Technology Analysis, 2010).

Company Background

In the City of Kelsey, Baderman Island was conceived in 1988 by redirecting the Kelsey River. “The plans for redirecting the river …Baderman Island is dedicated to managing leisure and convention focused resorts that provide a unique and quality experience to guests and visitors…… operational leaders in the organization, empowers its staff to offer unsurpassed quality of customer service, through individual acts of random kindness and specialty services(Baderman Island, 2010).

Technology Solution

The technology solution is broken down into three sub-categories: Implementation Plan, Risk Management Plan and the Communications Plan

Implementation Plan

To keep the dedicated program team on track and to track the progress of the Strategic Plan, the development of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Gantt chart will serve as the roadmap for the project.

Risk Management Plan

Throughout the plan the project team will need to address risk. All risks and probabilities cannot be identified during the Planning Process. Management, control, and iteration are required. When changes occur, the cycle of identify-analyze-respond is continually repeated.

Communications Plan

Baderman Island Resort to realize efficiency and effectiveness, the organization must manage the integration of these two processes to ensure the highest levels of performance. To do so, they will need to facilitate team communication with the dedicated project team across all departments.

Specifications and Metric for the Project

A business intelligence or data warehouse implementation affects all the divisions of the organization in one way or the other. Accounting and purchasing divisions, vendors, dealers and even customers will be affected in the way that business will be conducted. It will be important to identify the key stakeholders to establish support by agreeing on key metrics.

Financial Justification

The implementation …will have a lasting effect on guests and clients at Baderman Island, while the benefits are critical to the long-term success of the resort. Through the use of this best practice Baderman Island will be poised to be a leader in the hospitality industry.

Conclusion

“Maintaining proper internal access and process controls within your organization is a tremendous challenge that requires complete transparency, increased data security, full accountability, and real-time risk reporting across your enterprise.”(Governing, 2008) Aided by a comprehensive Enterprise Resource Planning system, a well balanced strategic plan, and best practices Baderman Island Resort will be positioned for growth of the enterprise.
