Mission Statement 

The Summit/Akron Solid Waste Management Authority provides solutions and leadership to

empower our community, institutions and businesses to develop and utilize environmentally

sound, cost-effective recycling and waste management strategies.

Goal # 1Empower community stakeholders to innovate and adopt best practices to

achieve zero waste OBJECTIVES:

1.1 Define and demonstrate the environmental, economic and social impact of reuse, waste reduction and recycling

 1.2 Provide high quality information, programs, services and technical assistance

 1.3 Utilize funding opportunities to leverage/encourage significant waste reduction, reuse and recycling strategies
