    Alsace is famous for its wine,

    beer, and sauerkraut.

    For Saint Nicolas day on the 6th

    of December, bakeries prepare

    brioches, or Maennele astradition.

    During Christmas time there are

    15 different varieties of cookies

    that are called Bredeles.

    Traditionally, breakfast on New

    Years Day is celebrated with a

    stolle which is a special

    bread.

    TheCathedral The city is organized

    around the cathedral.

    It was created duringthe Middle Ages andtook almost three

    centuries to becompleted.

    The spire is 142meters tall andbecause of this, Notre

    Dame de Strasbourgwas for a while thetallest building in theworld when it wascompleted in 1439.
