PICTURE DESCRIPTION OF ACTION/TYPE AND LENGTH OF SHOT/MUSIC/DIALOGUE/LOCATION

In this scene, one of the people from the production team will be talking about the

benefits of drinking water, the disadvantages of drinking fizzy or sugary drinks and

introducing the challenge – this scene will involve the person walking and talking and will

last approximately 45 seconds

Also throughout the first scene, there will be inserts and cutaways of different people

drinking bottles or water or fizzy drinks and different brands of bottled water that are

available. We will ensure that this fits into the 45 second time limit for the opening section.

There will be some background music throughout the insert and cutaway part of the scene as well as the voice over of the subject

continuing to talk about water and the documentary.

Once this scene is done, we will include our first expert interview with Julie Maitland – this will include information about the benefits of

drinking water and the effects that it could have on a person as well as the effects that

only drinking fizzy drinks could have on someone. This scene will have no background

music as it is a serious, informative scene. This scene will last for approximately 30

seconds. The next scene will be a video diary of the first day of the water challenge. We will see in this

clip how the subject is feeling, if they feel different to how they normally do, if they have

found it difficult or if they have noticed any changes already. There will be some happy upbeat music quietly in the background and there will be dialogue from the subject. This

clip will last around 35 seconds.

We will then include some of the vox pop interviews that we have done and edit the clip so that we see different subjects answering

different questions rather than them all answering the same – for example ‘Do you

know how much water you are recommended to drink per day’ there will also be the same

style of background music and the scene will last about 40 seconds long

The next scene that we see is days 2 – 6 of the water challenge. We will see how the subject is feeling and if they have noticed any significant changes in their health or how they are feeling. There will be some background music and this

clip will last 60 seconds.

The next scene will be the last of the voxpop interviews and there again will be upbeat

background music in order to show the scene as being a happy entertaining and not so

serious scene. This scene will last 20 seconds and will be edited so the clips are fast moving

but you can still understand what they are saying and gain some information.

This scene will be the final video diary scene where we will see days 7-14 of the water

challenge. We will see the subjects talking about the changes they have experienced and

how easy/difficult they have found the challenge. As well as this, there will be

background music in some parts of the clip as there will be a lot of information in the scene

so we would want the audience to be as entertained as possible. This scene will last

approximately 55 seconds. The last scene that we see is the final scene. This is where the subject will again talk about the benefits of drinking water and how it has

affected them over the two week period in which they did the challenge. There will be

background music as it is the closing scene which will gradually get louder and then it will be the music for the end credits. This scene

will last approximately 15 seconds.

The end credits will then roll which will feature our names and the different job roles we had throughout the production and creation of the

documentary.
