Stop TxDOT Logo Services Signs on Loop 360 and Other Scenic Roadways!

Loop 360 is a designated Hill Country Scenic Roadway Corridor by the City of Austin

The City of Austin has ordinances covering signs along Loop 360 within the corridor

The City of Austin, with the help of neighborhood organizations, have enforced the sign ordinance

TxDOT has prevented any business or personal signage along the Loop 360 right of way

Office buildings, restaurants and other services have been severely restricted in their signage on Loop 360; and

TxDOT's logo services signs along Loop 360 make a mockery of adherence to the scenic roadway ordinance

The service signs erected by TxDOT are much larger, noisome and out of character to other signs along Loop 360

A large significant number of travelers along Loop 360 are daily commuters

Loop 360 is not an interstate highway like IH35 for which this state ordinance permitting the signs was created

The service signs erected by TxDOT on Loop 360 are ugly, distracting, and visually polluting;

The signers of this petition ask that:

● The logo service signs erected on Loop 360 by TxDOT be taken down, and

● The State ordinance allowing these signs be amended to conform to city and county ordinances creating scenic roadways, specifically disallowing services signs being placed along Loop 360.
