Art Department NewsOriginal Works is coming this month! Original Works is a

great fundraiser for Fine Arts Initiatives here at Stoneleigh. The funds for this fundraiser have been used over the past several years to purchase a kiln in 2009, specialty art materi-als for integrated projects, and Artist in Residency Programs (In 2012 Ssuuna, African drummer and dancer and Spring of 2014 Jay Wolf Schlossberg-Cohen, Painter). The dual purpose of this fundraiser is to provide wonderful keepsakes for our families and to support Fine Arts Programs at Stoneleigh Elementary School.

You are able to order products that have your student’s artwork printed on them. These products are great for gifts and capturing precious memories. Orders will be delivered in December just in time for the holidays. Your student will receive the Original Works packet the third week in October. Please be aware that some students will receive their artwork and Original Works packets earlier than others, depending on when they have art. Your orders will be due on Friday, Octo-ber 31, 2014. Please remember to send back your order form with the original art work. Checks should be made payable to Stoneleigh Elementary School.

You can send in artwork or photographs of your own for this fundraiser! Just stick to these simple guidelines:

• Paper has to be 8 1/2”x 11”.• No abrasive materials can be used (such as glitter or

sand). • Loose materials must be sealed.• No metallic papers or materials may be used.• No copyrighted materials/ photographs can be used.• Mark the back with the students name, homeroom, and

indicate where the top of the artwork with a “T”.Thank You for your support! If you have any questions

please email Mrs. Link at [email protected].
