Does your church need a
bus?
We have a 21 passenger bus availa-
ble. It requires a CDL driver and
needs some tender loving care. It is
a 1990’s model.
Price is very negotiable and even
free to right need.

This year is rapidly moving toward
fall. What have we accomplished for
the Lord during the summer? There
are good reports of many becoming
Christians. There have been a number
of mission trips with several churches
working together to accomplish the
Lord’s work in other communities.
Vacation Bible School and Sports
Camps, likewise, have had churches
working together to reach folks in our
communities. Have you noticed that
we can accomplish so much more for
our Lord when we work together?
Let’s keep up the good work and
even increase our working with each
other to reach our area and other
places for the Lord. Our question
should not be what has the Stone As-
sociation done for us, but instead, it
should be how much more can we do
by working together as churches of
Stone Association? It is my hope that
we will continue to do more together
for the cause of Christ and His mission
statement to go EVERYWHERE and
share the good news of the gospel.
Joe Wiles, DoM
The Red Rocker
The red rocker is older now.
It’s gone from birth to birth.
Sons and daughters have rocked in it
With pleasure, joy and mirth.
When the rocker got too small—they
got too big,
To its place it went,
And rested there awhile
Until to another it was lent.
The years have come and gone.
The red rocker is at times forlorn
As it waits in its place of honor
For another to be born.

There has been a request from the
Rescue Mission in Cookeville for a
little additional help. In the recent
weeks they have experienced an in-
crease in folks needing help especial-
ly families. Most of us cannot even
begin to imagine what it is like to
seek shelter and food on a daily basis.
The Rescue Mission serves a vital
role in the community and in God's
Kingdom. For the next couple of
weeks we would like to ask for your
help. Let's gather non-perishable food
items canned goods, snack crackers
etc and hygiene products.. soap, deo-
dorant, shampoo, toothpaste etc. to
help out in the Rescue Mission. Ask
your church, youth groups, Sunday
School class, school or school group
to donate these things. When you get
them you can contact myself, Tony
Crow, at 931.260.6683 or Sherry
Smith at 931.261.1286 and we will be
glad to get them to the Rescue Mis-
sion. Thanks in advance for your
help.

DODSON BRANCH
"I am Glad I Know Who Jesus Is" a
Geron Davis song title with the meaning
that each person needs.
During July, we observed the Found-
ing of our Nation with songs by our
church choir, and a ‘history of how our
United States of America was estab-
lished, and people reading the Declara-
tion of Independence’. Here is a “did
you know answer”...July 5, 1775. The
Continental Congress adopted the Olive
Branch Petition expressing hope for a
reconciliation with Britain. However,
King George III refused even to look at
the petition and instead issued a procla-
mation declaring the colonists to be in a
state of open rebellion. July 4, 1776—
The Declaration of Independence was
approved by the Continental Congress.
Bro. John Darrell Davis borrowed
from the phrase “Nickels, Nails, Noses”
to preach a message of how people look
at a church. How are Christians giving to
support the Lord’s work in a church and
have the ‘house of the Lord’s best in ap-
pearance and being consistent in attend-
ing services. God asks Christians to ac-
cept responsibility to ‘do not forsake the
assembling of yourselves together, and
encouraging each other with the promise
of Jesus Christ’s return.’
We had a ‘CELEBRATION SUN-
DAY' July 22nd. Faye Davis and
four of her sisters did the special
songs for us with great testimony for
the Lord God. Bro. Davis sermon
title was 'Glory to Glory' 2 Corinthi-
ans 3:18. Macee Conner, was bap-
tized that day, also. Macee's parents
are Clint and Samantha Conner. We
truly rejoiced for the Lord's bless-
ings!
We are proud that we are an-
nouncing the wedding for Kacie
Jackson and Logan Pierce during the
month of October. Kacie is the
daughter of Larry and Lora Jackson.
We say thanks to Mr. Larry
McNabb for leading our singing Sun-
day, August 5th.
Everyone continue to join us
in prayer for our schools, our coun-
try, our churches, God's watch care,
and each other, PRAY OFTEN!
Rev. John Davis is our Interim
Supply Pastor.
GAINESBORO FBC
Greetings from Gainesboro First
Baptist Church!
June and July were busy months
for our church. We enjoyed an ice
cream social, a watermelon spitting
contest with children starting at age 4
and going up to one lady age 87. Sev-
eral enjoyed prizes for their efforts.
We have food each Wednesday night
prior to our Bible Study in Genesis.
We welcomed back Dave Pierce
the 4th Sunday. We had a guest sing-
er on the 5th Sunday. On the 5th
Sunday night the alter was open and
we prayed for our community, our
church, its members, other churches,
politicians, students, schools, the
sick, the lost, and anyone in need of
prayer. Who doesn’t need prayer?
Our Sunday School lesson says that
God desires to accomplish His work
through you...me…, us…so “Get to
it”!
On August 12th we will visit with
Mabry Assisted Living. On the 18th
we will host a Game Day for the
young people of our community. We
look forward to sharing the love of
Jesus with His children.
God is anywhere you are; He is
there anytime; Ask Him anything!
He wants to give you His BEST! He
is joy. “I thank my God always!” 1
Corinthians 1:4.
Rev. Kelly Stockton is our pastor
BANGHAM HEIGHTS
School is back in session and we are
looking forward to special events for the end
of summer. Our men had a prayer breakfast
on Saturday, August 4, at 7:30 a.m. The la-
dies had a brunch on Saturday, August 11, at
10:00 a.m. This brunch will start the ladies
off on a weekly Bible Study of the Book of
Hosea. The study will be each Monday night
starting on August 13, at 6:00 p.m.
Before going back to school, the children
had a great time at the Fun Factory and pizza
at CiCi’s on Saturday, July 28. The youth
had a blast at the home of Jim & Barbara
Hawkins where they had a pool party, pizza
and a movie.
A Friends & Family Sunday is planned
for Sunday, August 12. Everyone is encour-
aged to pack a pew or two.
The Prayer Card Ministry sent out 43
cards of encouragement in July.
The Food & Faith Pantry served 25 fami-
lies, prepared 33 boxes of food, had 7 com-
mittee members and 6 volunteers that served
in July.
The Keenagers had 17 that went to the
Appalachian Craft Center on Tuesday, July
17. They have a trip planned to go to Lotz
House Museum in Franklin, TN on Tuesday,
August 21.
The Children’s Missions groups are col-
lecting schools supplies for Christmas in
August.
Everyone is invited to our Labor Day
Picnic on Sunday, September 2, at 5:30 p.m.
This will be our last picnic of the season.
Rev. Robert Haynes is our pastor
CANEY FORK
The fellowship at Caney Fork Baptist
Church has just experienced one of our busi-
est and most joyful summers ever for the
Lord. Many blessings were provided through
the workers and participants at GA and RA
Camp; followed by our ‘Game On’ VBS.
Our cup was filled until it overflowed during
our annual mission trip to Bright Life Farm
in KY.
We continue to sponsor Avery Trace
Middle School through work projects and
staff appreciation events. Recently, flower
beds were refurbished and a ‘Back to
School’ Cookout was enjoyed by the staff.
August highlights the start of Bro. Ste-
ve’s Sunday School Class on Southern Bap-
tist Theology. Our evening service will re-
turn to a congregational Bible Study where
Bro. Steve will be leading us through a doc-
trinal study on major Biblical doctrines.

From time to time churches need someone
to supply or an Interim Pastor and do not
know who to call. The following men have
indicated their willingness to supply (some as
Interim Pastor) and would appreciate an
opportunity to serve.*
“I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord
Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the
dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the
word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove,
rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.”
2 Timothy 4:1-2

verification of individual credentials and/or quali-
fications.

brownies, games and face painting on
Wednesday August 1. Many of our chil-
dren received new sneakers and socks for
school. Please pray for us as we contin-
